Why are align options disabled when frame is on auto layout?

New to figma and following figma youtube tutorial.

A frame (auto-layout) within another frame(auto layout). In the tutorial the align options are enabled when the frame is selected but not in newer version of figma. They are all disabled.

Are there changed to these features in auto layout or could it be local my installation.

In the video, Shift A automatically makes it into a frame with auto layout.

In the latest version, Ctl+Alt+G to turn into frame, do align as required, then shift-A to turn auto layout. So this is the work around I see.

Probably because it wasn’t a frame
