- Describe the problem your experiencing and how your idea helps solve this
When you select all (cmd+a) it will use the frame or group you’re within as context in most cases. However, when selecting inverse it will select inverse of all layers, frames, etc within a file. ignoring the frame you’re within.
It would be great if this functionality matched within select inverse.
- Add as much context as possible (screenshots, Figma files, mockups, etc.)
Current behaviour
- Component selected
- Press enter
- All layers are selected
- Press tab until I reach the layer I want to avoid
- Press shift a
- All layers within the document except for the layer that I wanted to avoid
Desired behaviour
- Component selected
- Press enter
- All layers are selected
- Press tab until I reach the layer I want to avoid
- Press shift a
- All layers within the group except for the layer I was on should now be selected
- Ask questions to bring the community into the conversation
- Are there any downsides I’m not seeing here?
- Is there a particular reason that select inverse selects the whole document instead of contextually using the frame/group that select all does?
- Can I add any further clarification?
