PDF export lagging and not loading well

Hi !
When I try to export my project (5 frames), I am confronted with a file that takes a lot of time to load, and that lags a lot.
I tried to export it with several plugins and the built-in tool, I tried to compress the file after the export, I tried to do it frame by frame…

Thanks for helping !

If you’re experiencing issues with exporting your project in Figma due to large file sizes or performance problems, here are some strategies and tips to help you handle and optimize your exports:

1. Optimize Your Frames:

  • Simplify Content: Reduce the number of elements, simplify complex vector shapes, and minimize effects like shadows and blurs.
  • Use Components: Convert repetitive elements into components to reduce redundancy and file size.

2. Export Settings:

  • File Format: Consider exporting in different formats (e.g., PNG, JPG) based on your needs. PNGs can be large, so JPG might help if lossless quality isn’t required.
  • Resolution: Adjust the resolution settings to avoid exporting in unnecessarily high resolutions. For web, 72 DPI is usually sufficient.

3. Use Export Settings Efficiently:

  • Batch Export: If exporting multiple frames or assets, use the batch export feature to streamline the process.
  • Slice Tool: Use Figma’s slice tool to export specific areas of your design rather than the entire frame if possible.

4. Compress Files:

  • Compression Tools: After exporting, use file compression tools to reduce file size further (e.g., TinyPNG for PNG files, ImageOptim for general compression).

5. Plugins and Tools:

  • Figmify: Helps in exporting and optimizing your designs. It can handle batch processing and exports efficiently.
    • Figmify
  • Batch Export: Another plugin that allows you to handle multiple assets and frames in bulk.
    • Batch Export

6. Check File Performance:

  • Remove Unused Styles: Clean up unused styles, fonts, and components to reduce file size.
  • Simplify Layers: Flatten complex layers where possible to improve performance.

7. Try Exporting in Smaller Parts:

  • Export in Segments: If the file is too large, try exporting smaller parts of the design and then combine them using external tools.

8. Update Figma:

  • Check for Updates: Ensure you’re using the latest version of Figma, as updates might include performance improvements.

9. Contact Support:

  • Figma Support: If you continue to experience issues, contact Figma Support for assistance.

By following these tips and utilizing the mentioned tools, you should be able to manage and optimize your export process more effectively. If you encounter specific issues or need further help, feel free to ask!
