Owner cannot remove users

Could you please double check of your role on the team where the project is located?
Please refer to this guide to check the required permissions: Remove or adjust access

Are you an team admin? If so, you can manage team permission on that team from the file browser as below. (If you are not the team admin, please contact them to verify your team permissions.):

1. Open Figma in the file browser.
2. Select the team name on the sidebar.
3. Select Members at the top of the screen.
4. Check the permission/roles for your account.

If you adjust the permission for the team where the project is located and still cannot remove members from the project, I recommend reaching out directly to our support team at: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001744374
When contacting them, please remember to provide the following details:

• Your Figma account email
• Screenshots of the issue
• The URL link of the project
