The issue is comes from layer organization, as you can see the ‘overlay’ is at the bottom in Button-1, but all the elements are covered underneath.
The opposite is shown in Button-2

Change canvas stacking order in Advanced auto layout settings.

I don’t think it is a solution but rather a hack as it have an impact on the structure of the auto layout. This feature should be used to modify stacked content as which element appear above, not necessary the absolute positioned elements.
