I’m trying to cut an ellipse hole in a rectangle, with a border around the ellipse.

Here’s what I have so far, minus the border:

When I try to add a stroke border, it makes the border transparent and everything else not transparent. I tried to add more screenshots of this, but it only allows one photo for new users.

How do I draw this border around the ellipse but make the fill part of the ellipse transparent?

Thanks!

I think the simplest technique for this use case is to duplicate the ellipse, place it above the “Subtract”, and then remove the fill and add a stroke to it.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up doing that, and it worked out. Take care.
