Hide components when publishing, but keep them as preferred values

I have a set of atomic components that are used as preferred values in an instance property in another component.

For example, a set of icon glyphs as components that are used as preferred values in the main component.

Is it possible to hide these atomic components when publishing, but keep them as preferred values? Hiding them clears the preferred values. Leaving atomic components published makes using the library a torture.

Hi,

I have found a way to partially solve the problem - to reduce the number of incorrect uses when inserting components. I put components in coloured sections or add a background for variant containers, so they are displayed on a contrasting background in the Assets panel, making it easy to identify the component parts and avoid using them.
