Figma is too slow after new update

I can not find the “Go back to previous UI” option :frowning: Do you know if it has been removed?
What they have done to my ex favourite software? :frowning:

I’m also experiencing the same issue with the Figma app on Mac. The response time is prolonged, which is quite frustrating. Can you please help me out?

Hey there, thanks for following up!

+1 here for slowness with the new UI. I switched back and it’s not only faster but so much easier to use.

I’m a designer and love redesigning things. But I’m not sure what problems the new UI tried to solve :man_shrugging:

+1 here for the slower performance since the new UI update. I experience a heavier load on the CPU which makes my Mac’s fan spin up quickly. I didn’t had any issues before the update with the same file.

[UPDATE] I only have the above issue when using the native app. When using the browser version, all seems to be working fine again. This might be an app related issue.

I have same issue like yours. My Mac’s fan is getting so loud when I used the new Figma app. Frustrated.

I don’t even have the new UI yet, but the performance issues occur like never before. I experienced it in the files I’ve been working on for over a year and there were no major changes to them recently. Now the file loading time exceeds 7 minutes, while the MacBook fans go crazy.

It happens on both the desktop and the web browser apps. I tried reinstalling and clearing the cache but with no luck. I rely heavily on variables and nested components if that matters. Unfortunately, I can’t share the exact files. Maybe I’ll try somehow to replicate the issue and share the file afterwards.

Experiencing the same issue since I switched to the new UI, the app performance is atrocious it’s incredibly frustrating!

I am running it on a Mac M1 which was always super fast on the previous UI…

Is there any update to that issue?

If you have complicated svg files with lots of tiny details in them, keep your zoom levels increments to 25, 50, 100, 200%. If the zoom is somewhere around these increments, the cpu usage tends to go crazy.
