Hey Figma Family! I need a little help. I have put together a web site design and am having issues when I view it in a browser. When I click on ‘Present’ to open my design in the Figma browser > Share Prototype > Copy Link and then open the link on my iPhone, when I scroll down to look to see how the design looks and make changes, it constantly crashes and the page refreshes. I’ve had a look on the Figma Forum and other people are having the same issue? Is there something I can do to my frame design to stop this? I believe the issue is something to do with browser memory? Obviously I cannot send this link to the client for feedback/approval with it constantly crashing. I have spent a couple of weeks learning Figma and putting together 2 web designs. My Manager is looking to purchase the software, for our team, and needs reassurances that there will be no issues going forward. Do I need to do something to my frame before I look at it in a browser? Is the issue something in my page content? Large jpgs? SVGs? Many thanks Figma Family

Hey Chris,
As you have already mentioned, the most common reason that prototypes fail to load or repeatedly crash on a mobile phone is that loading the prototype exceeds the mobile browser’s available memory which can be less than that in a desktop browser.
You can read more on this in Reduce memory usage in files and where you’re seeing a prototype crash in the mobile browser, we suggest checking the recommendations there and seeing if making those changes helps the presentation to load more stably.
Specifically I’d suggest looking for:
- Multiple shadows or blurs layered on a frame
- Multiple layered gradients
- Images added at a larger size than they’re used at
- Very complex smart animate transitions
- Interactive components from large variant sets (the presentation viewer loads the whole set, which places a high demand on the available memory).
The more of these elements that are included in a prototype, the more likely it is that you’ll see it fail to load on mobile.
If you’re seeing this happen even on very small files, or have tested these suggestions and with no impact, please reach out directly to the support team so they can have a deeper look at it: here
Be sure to use your Figma email account, share a short video, and add support-share@figma.com to this File as an Editor (this won’t affect your billing at all) and send through a link to the page containing your prototype so the team can take a closer look. Thanks!
