Does not work here. That WAS in my original post but it looks like Figma-holes removed the link.
Hey @KennLucas,
That’s odd. I just tested it again, and it’s working as expected for me as well. Plugin creators provide their own support, so I’d flag an issue with the creator directly here: GitHub - Ligerx/figma-word-counter
In the meantime, I’ll pass this along to the team to consider adding a word/character counter feature in the future.
P.S. It looks like the link was previously auto-flagged as potential spam, but I can restore it as safe on the back end.
Hi @KennLucas In addition to the plugin mentioned above, I made an “in any case” plugin recently that besides transforming the text case also shows the characters, words, sentences, and paragraphs count in real-time. You can select any number of text layers or components and see the metrics in the plugin window (you can keep it open if you need to switch to different layers, all metrics will be updated in a blink), or you can use the quick “Count characters” action in the run menu.
Totally feel you — it should be super easy for Figma to add something like a quick word/character count to the right-click menu. Especially when you're deep into designing copy-heavy frames, it'd be so helpful to get that info without switching tools or relying on buggy plugins (looking at you, Word Counter).
While it’s not built into Figma (yet), I’ve been using the UseMyNotes Online Character Counter as a quick workaround. It’s a simple web-based tool — just copy and paste your text, and it instantly gives you the word and character count. Nothing fancy, just fast and reliable when you need it.
