@Figma_Support cannot believe that such simple feature still does not exist.

Please please add this… Would make identify frames needing updates sooo much easier.

As a workaround, I did this:

  • Create a component set that contains two Frames
  • Set Frame_One to 100% transparency
  • In Frame_Two, add a block of text
  • Select that text and assign a ‘Text Property’
  • Add the component to a standard location on each of your pages
  • Select the component in each page and change the text property to match the Frame name.

Have you considered the Flow Starting Point options?

  • On the prototype tab, select the frame you wish to label, then give it a Flow starting point name. Like “Home Page.”

  • Then when you present, if you show the sidebar, you will see a list of your added frames.

You can drag the order of flow points on your page (prototype tab). The FIRST one in the list will always be the one your prototype starts with if you just hit the play button.

  • You can even write a description for each frame.

  • Click the presentation view sidebar flow points to navigate to a specific frame.

  • You can right-click the sidebar items and get the link to the flow.

I use this for every professional presentation I do.

The help file is more confusing than it is worth. But here is the link. https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039823894-Create-and-manage-prototype-flows.

I agree. When we hand off links to our BAs to write functional specs they would also like to have context to the frame name they are writing about. And we don’t want to have to set up flows for every frame.

I also need this. its really hard to know in which specific frame you are on without knowing the name. I add the interaction that the page include in the frame name and without seeing it its impossible ti know where to click.
eg: dashboard man page - dropdown open.

still Figma not taking any action on this smalll yet useful feature

Steph_Finauer

This is such a gigantic miss from Figma. I’ve resorted to manually labelling my frames with a line of text, which is a HUGE waste of time.

Surely this isn’t too big of an ask? Would mean the world to us if our clients can understand the context of each screen state and not be so reliant on us to navigate a large feature.

Start feature prototype 🙂 > Flows nicely organised 😀 > See a bunch of screens 😵‍💫 > Feels overwhelmed and lost 😣

Robbie_Boyhan

This is a major need. Most of our BAs a Product owners prefer to view our designs in presentation mode. But without the frame titles, sometimes it’s hard to know what the designer was intending to showcase on a given frame. Please move this to the top of your backlog if it’s not already in the works. Seems like such an easy win to make this a setting that users could turn on or off.
