On Mac you can set shortcuts for plugins.
Thank you, Gleb, for your response. Could you please provide a guide on how to accomplish this?
I’m specifically looking for a native solution that works on both macOS and Windows, as I use both platforms daily for design work.
I hope the shortcuts you mentioned don’t require any Figma UI interaction. One drawback of UI-based interactions is performance; as the UI needs to be rendered before interaction, which can vary based on network and device specifications.
P.S: Did my research and found Reddit guide mentioning BetterTouchTool, which still not an efficient solution. But I’m not sure if it is what @Gleb is mentioning.
Thanks in advance.
There is no solution for Windows
How so? I prefer BTT as it’s more reliable but you can also set shortcuts in the System Preferences. The plugin calls are instant and don’t require any UI interaction. There can’t be a more efficient way as with this method actions take 0 seconds.
Sorry, what I meant is “Not as efficient” . And by efficient I mean that It doesn’t need an extended setup time, or requiring to be on certain OS.
Plugins are very Integral part of Figma , and I believe they should care a lot more about its usability features around it.
Oh no I’m in no way discarding your feature suggestion, just sharing a workaround for the meantime.
