Currently, positioning the menu that appears when clicking the “More Options” icon in each table item requires manual adjustments for every link. This proposal aims to improve efficiency by introducing two options:

  1. Batch Editing: Similar to other batch editing features in Figma, allow for bulk selection and positioning of the menus. This would significantly reduce the time needed to set the position for numerous items.
  2. Custom X/Y Axis Definition: Provide the ability to define a specific X and Y axis offset for the menu. This ensures consistent positioning across all table items, maintaining a uniform user experience.

As an alternative, consider incorporating a “popover” type within the overlay settings. This would function similarly to popover libraries like Getting Started | Floating UI, offering a pre-defined and customizable menu placement style

Hey there, thanks for your feedback! We’ll pass this onto the team for consideration.

I stumbled upon this as I have a similar scenario/issue. It would be nice to adjust an x or y axis for something like a snackbar notification moving in from the bottom (or top). We have a lot of notifications pop in from the bottom of our applications. I’ve been able to use manual positioning for the most part to get these pop-in overlays to display 50 px or so from the bottom of the screen. Would be a lot faster and easier to just be able to select “bottom” position with a y axis offset of 50px (or something similar) to fine-tune an overlay’s placement.

This would be exceptionally valuable to my workflows. Manually positioning 45 overlays due to a context menu design change is painful.
