When sharing prototype links with internal team members or clients, we find that the URLS are often long and not user friendly.

Have you guys considered making short urls or user-friendly sharing links?

I made this service a long time ago that might help: https://figma.fun/

Thank you! Sharing this with my team.

Really cool design/interface, Gleb! How did you make this?

Well, I coded it? 😀 Pure vanilla JS/HTML/CSS. Nothing too complex. This is not a real Figma interface.

I would still think that would be beneficial to have a more dev/PM friendly url when referring to Figma elements. They now expose the project name, but that falls short. I would love to have page name and frame name as well, that would save a lot of headache while going through hundreds of links.

https://fig.ma/HgGs8d would be so much nicer.

Hello,

I often have to send links to prototypes to clients. The URLs that Figma generates are often very long. Currently I have a link that is over 250 characters long.

I would welcome if URLs to designs and prototypes were shorter and more natural, e.g. figma.com/prototype/teamname/filename/sectionname instead of long, cryptic strings with lots of special characters and numbers.

Thank you!

Hi Gleb, I was looking for something liek this, but it seems like Figma.fun is no longer working?

temporary issue, will be fixed in a few hours

We’re having problems entering Figma links into Microsoft Lists (formerly Sharepoint Lists) because they are over 255 characters.

Sorry for the trouble, @Yvette_O!

Gleb’s link above should help in the meantime.

This need to be address asap by Figma please shorten the URLs please

Since there’s still no change in this, I made a tutorial about shortening Figma URL’s:
