Multi-edit components with the same props applied inside a component set

Hi 🙂

I love that you’ve added the multi-select feature, but when it comes to component sets, I often don’t want to edit all variants inside a set.

I’m working on our Design System and was editing our button component set.
I wanted to change the icon size of all buttons with the variant prop S applied. But when I trigger multi-edit variants it always selects all variants inside my component set. (All sizes, states, etc.)
Currently if I want to make changes only to for example the icon, I have to shift select each one of them by hand and as they are nested inside I have to double click a lot. If I miss-click I also have to start over sometimes.

It would be wonderful if there would be an option to filter by the property you want to multi-select when inside a component.
So in my example I would filter by the variant “Size: S” and only my S buttons are selected. I can then select layers inside one element and all the other variants with the size S will select the same element as well.

I hope I make sense and it would possible to add to Figma.
Thank you!

Hey @Michelle_Mann, thank you for taking your time to share your feedback with us!
Yes this makes sense to me and I am seeing you’ve already received some votes. This helps us roadmap future updates and our Product Managers check the forum regularly.

Thanks,
Gayani
