As a daily FigJam user

I want the ability to merge cells in a table

So that I can better organize the information I’m storing in FigJam

Given I have a table with more than one cell

When I select multiple adjacent cells and right-click

Then I should see the option to “Merge Cells”

and When I click “Merge Cells”

Then the cells I have selected are merged

Given only one of the cells I have selected to merge has content in it

When I click “Merge Cells”

Then the content remains in the newly-merged single cell

Given more than one of the cells I have selected to merge has content in it

When I click “Merge Cells”

Then I’m presented with a warning saying “Wait! Only the first cell’s content will be kept during this merge - you will lose content!” (or similar)

and Then I’m presented with 2 CTA options: Merge Anyway or Cancel Merge

When I choose to “Merge Cells Anyway”

Then the warning clears and the content remains in the newly-merged single cell

OR When I choose to “Cancel Merge”

Then the warning clears and the cells remain unmerged

The topic was created a while ago, but there is still no feature called “Merging cells” in FigJam)

And here it is a year later … I found this thread trying to find a way to get useful headers in my table. Please add this functionality!

It would be great to have merging cell feature for tables in FigJam.

Not having this ability really limits the usefulness of tables. Please add this functionality!

2 years since the request was first made and over 7 pages of comments and this still isn’t done?

Tables are practically useless at the moment.  C’mon figma - this is the definition of malpractice.

NEED THIS FEATURE ASAP this is the only thing missing.

seems like the PO’s got a bit tooo carried away with AI features rather than the basic funtionalites… dissapointed that this hasn’t been implemented
