When there are a lot of conditionals and interactions, the popout menu becomes scrollable, which is great. However, some prototypes end up having a really long chain of interactions that the user may need to view at the same time. Having to scroll up and down inside the panel is tedious. If the panel was resizable (retaining scrollability with overflow) the user would be able to see more at once.
To enhance user experience and navigation ease on the main page, I suggest altering the current label “/Back to files” to “/Back to Home,” and pairing it with the corresponding Figma icon. Furthermore, relocating this button outside of the “Main Menu” and placing it in a more prominent area of the interface could increase its visibility, as there is ample space available for this adjustment. Such a minor modification could likely boost the site’s adoption rate among new users by providing clearer and more direct guidance to the homepage. I’m relatively new to user experience work, but I believe this suggestion will be valuable!
Hello Figma Team. Please consider adding a “Align Centers” option. This single option would be equivalent to clicking both Align Horizontal Centers AND Align Vertical Centers. This option could reside between Right Align and Top align.
Hello, I want to apply conditional variable to variant inside the component set. Currently, if i am not mistaken, it can only be applied to instance. For example : If boolean variant Timer is true Then display Variant Timer on If not display Variant Timer off It could be applied to component size, color inside component etc.
I run into this use case alllll the time and it drives me crazy that this isn’t supported in Figma: I have a modal that is opened as an overlay. Within that modal is a dropdown, which will alter the contents of the modal. I would LOVE for a click on the dropdown options to be able to swap the variation of the modal.
What’s the use of a color picker if I can’t directly use what I find? Let’s create a shortcut to copy the found color code to clipboard. Could be a variation of cmd+C, alt+C, or similar. So that I can directly paste the found HEX code to my design. Particularly useful, for example, when I have a transparent color and want to know the hexcode to turn it solid.
It would be nice and efficient if I’d be able to locate my team member from the Figma “dashboard”, click the avatar and get to the project that my team member is working on. There could be a setting where I could enable to let other members “find” me, to easily get into the project I’m currently in. There are often scenarios when I want to get to the project that my team member is working on, to share a component, an image, whatever. To do that, I need to ask what project they’re in, then locate the project either by searching or finding it in a folder.
It would be super helpful to be able put a colored border around integrated Jira cards. Each card comes through as solid white. Being able to use a color picker and put a thick colored border around a card would help to organize linked cards. Even better? Tie that color to the Jira status label color, automatically. This would allow users to see a card status from a ‘high level’.
Would be great to have the ability to mark up text like you can on Adobe Acrobat, in Figma. This way stakeholders can provide specific feedback on text more specifically.
Hi all, Is there a way to sort or pin files to the project thumbnail in a team view? It looks like a great shortcut for the most used files inside the project, but unfortunately, the sorting now doesn’t make sense. I guess it’s sorted by ‘last created/edited’ atm, but it doesn’t reflect our needs.
It would be cool if there is a possibility to share prototype links to clients that doesn’t have an account. It would be beneficial for me because client could test the design before implement it.
It would be valuable for educators to have the ability to turn on/off functions for use with a class of students. A basic view or simple edit view to remove stickers and unnecessary items could be valuable for a shared class FigJam board, separate from a full view where students can access the fun add-ons and stickers and things when they are working more independently in FigJam.
Would be awesome if we could use number variables to define the properties within grid styles. Would allow us to use semantic tokens to set page margins and gutters.
I understand that it may be a small portion that is used in Thai, but sometimes we need to use it in real Thai language. such as in government-related tasks. I would appreciate it if you don’t let this case pass. Thanks!
Right now, when you search for a project or file and right-click it, you can “Open” or “Open in a new tab”. Both options do the exact same thing, taking you directly to that project’s tab. Open in a new tab should open the tab but you should remain on the same screen.
Please upload or share more formal templates. Thank you.
I’d love to be able to add more quick stamps to the circle of options via a + button. Or, the component stickers could have a circle of options as well so it’s faster, and I could add to that circle with the + button.
As a designer I’d like to undo/redo changes within each particular frame or object separately. I still want the ability to undo changes globally (the way it works now) but would love the ability to undo changes within specific frames. It would be especially helpful for when you might want to undo changes when you’re prototyping a lot different screens and component changes are not in sync. Or when you just forgot what you changed in this particular frame 2-3 hours ago without creating separate versions.
When I am working on a prototype with the prototyping panel active, I often find I want / need to edit an existing variable. I know there is an ability to add new variables from the Interactions Overlay, but there is no way to edit without going through the tedious process of; Switching back to the design view. Unselecting anything that is selected Often need to scroll up to the Local Variable settings link Open the variables overlay Switch to the collection I need Make any changes (and then optionally closing the Variable overlay) Switch back to the Prototyping view Reselect what I was working on and then reinvoke the interaction overlay Even when in design view, I wish there was a way to open the variables panel without deselecting objects. I also find that I need to assign a variable to either variant proprties and/or layer properties in the design view. Which means switching back to the design view. Basically, I would like everything needed to edit prototypes in the prototyping v
As the title says, it would be intuitive to have an ‘Invite’ button available on the Members tab in team admin view to invite new team members. It took me a while to figure out that I have to go to the team dashboard to find the invite option. The Members page is the place where you can see the overview of your team so being able to directly make changes to it in the same place would make sense.
hey, imagen you can use an object’s position as a variable and then use it in an if condition with “after delay” set to 1ms or “instant”… instead of doing a “mouse in”/“mouse out” on a page to animate a navbar or a button on scrolling, maybe you can just make it change when a specific object reaches a specific position or height or y coordination. like lets imagen an invisible object or line at a specific position, when its position becomes 0 on the y coordination after scrolling down, a specific if condition activates, maybe change the color of something or change any var at this point… edit: maybe something like: if “object” y coordination == 0 set “object” color → red … or set “object” var to 2; if else repeat. or something like this… this will open up so much different new ways to animate and to be free working in Figma.
Figma currently assists us in aligning elements on our frames by displaying lines at the top and on the left side of our elements. However, it would be super useful to be able to have the assistant help us out on the right side and even bottom side of our elements as well, like Canva does. It would help my team be more productive when we want a fast way of sizing elements and have the same space on both/all sides of the frame. It could even be an option people can able/disable as they need.
Hey FigJam Team / Figjammers I have an Idea, well, more of a problem. I’ve been wrapping up an affinity mapping session and going through the sense-making and analysis part of the research. While copying and pasting the groups of stickies and linking them to the correct areas for shared insights, I thought, wouldn’t it be great if FigJam allowed you to create a stack of grouped stickies which opened up when you clicked/hovered over it to allow you to see the details of the insights. As I am sure most of you will know, affinity boards get rather messy, large and can be very scary to look back into if needed. With this idea, we can manage our mass collections of stickies better. I’m open to any suggestions, and please feel free to share if you’ve experienced the same issue. Rav
Hi, new to Figma, but not new to UX design. I’m very competent with Sketch, JustinMind, Illustrator/Photoshop, and Axure and now my company is trying out Figma. The question I have is about Presentation Mode. I see all these great tutorials and functionality around responsiveness when INSIDE the Figma editor. Constrain the button to the parent frame for a variety of responsive behaviors… that’s cool. But when I launch Presentation Mode I’m only given choices like “Shrink to fit frame” and “Fill to fit” etc. I need to be able to make some UI that responds like HTML/CSS in Preview Mode. Like, a responsive data grid where some cells shrink as the window gets less wide and some do not and eventually resulting in a horizontal scrollbar when the grid can get no smaller. You know, web page style. I guess I’m confused about why the “drag and watch the objects respond” behavior seems to be limited to only the editor view. Am I missing something??? I can’t find any info about this. All the searc
It would be effiecient if FigJam file text widget could have capability to render symbols for mathematical expression like sigma, super script, subscript…
