If I click on ‘add child’ on ‘Lorem Ipsum’, I expect it to be in between ‘Lorem Ipsum’ and ‘Amet’ as ‘Dolor Sit’. But instead, it adds as a sibling to ‘Amet’. It would be better to have two different options, the current ‘add child’ and ‘add in between’. Significance? - Imagine there are 50+ items next to ‘Amet’ Note: This is from Mind Map widget
I saw where on the new Figma update, there’s a light/dark mode. I don’t see it on mines. I have the PROFESSIONAL Version
My Designer and I are working on a topic guide with a huge text field. we cannot type in it at the same time which slows down the workflow. Can we make it possible to do so?
Instead of creating branches on a per-file basis, why not create and manage branches on a team basis, the same way we do in development?
Hi, ADHD here. You guys are awesome. Please give us a way to open notifications in a full screen tab, or a multi-tasking window, or just something bigger than a tiny scroller that never ends. I need to hyperfocus on notifications sometimes, if I want to stay on top of requests from work. I need the option to allow you to command my attention, please. Thank you.
My team would like to be able to off multiplayer cursors (i.e. seeing other users cursors moving around) when accessing a file anonymously. This is because we use FigJam boards for retrospective meetings where people are encouraged to comment anonymously. Several members of the team find multiplayer cursors extremely distracting, but the option to turn them off is not available when accessing the board anonymously.
Hello. We’re using Figma as part of our work. We used Miro before, but changed to Figma because of economic reasons as far as I know. In this process there’s hundreds of us switching from Miro to Figma, but I can only speak for myself when I say that it would be fantastic if we had the option to change how to zoom in/out and move around so that it’s more easy for us used to the Miro keyboard shortcuts to transition to Figma. Best regards, Andreas
Hi Don’t you think it’s misleading that the “edit” button in link edit modal doesn’t indicate it is actually a button? Analogically the button in the next step inside this modal. I understand that we don’t want to change mouse cursor while hovering over it since it changes when we hover over the link itself. But maybe some subtle hover state would make it? Like slight lighting the bg
By Branching I mean the Git or other version control version of branching. Branch and merge. Many of our components are actually just offshoots of other components. No way to track. But how this happens is: My colleague saves a full page layout that has SIX CARDS, in a grid 3 columns and 2 rows. Now I want to make the layout wide. It makes sense to add more columns. Now I want to make it longer, now I want to add more rows. In order to do this, I have to break the component as is, and create another variant of that component that has more rows or more columns. So that’s a pain. But more likely, what will happen is I break the component, and then my designs can start diverging in subtle ways that then have to be audited or rejected by engineering. This is turning into a massive pain. We’re in the thousands of components with no end in sight. Now we have someone spending half their days just wrangling our component library. And they’re drowning.
Currently, the Flatten Selection command works in such a way that it removes all selected layers and creates new one. This brakes any internal links that Figma uses while working with components, ex. icons. As a result, you need to manually recolour all instances of an icon component after merging layers in the parent icon. I found a workaround to merge layers properly: Cut all layers except the 1st one. Select 1st layer. Enter vector editing mode by pressing Enter. Paste. This preserve Figma “links”, but require much more actions than a simple Cmd+E. Please make the Cmd+E to work in a way described above or something similar.
I used to love the Auto-layout property before the Absolute positioning property got introduced. The reason for me to love that property was no matter where my items were placed in the frame, it used to automatically align them all together either horizontally or vertically without causing any issues. But, ever since the Absolute positioning property got introduced - I started facing issues with the Auto-layout property, especially for the last item in my selection. Whenever I try to select a list of items and apply the Auto-layout property now if the last item is positioned slightly higher or lower than the others the Auto-layout property automatically sets the position of that last item to Absolute which is annoying and I have to go inside the frame to select that item and remove the Absolute positioning property from it. It’d be nice to not have the Absolute positioning property automatically applied to the item which is positioned slightly different than the others in the list.
Hi, I would like to have “Templates” or something equivalent to Sketch “Appearance”. So that I can then place my components in the template. Use case: For example having a modal box (with fill, border, drop shadow etc.) + auto layout and spacing. Only workaround I know is building “slots” but it feels wrong and seems more like a hack and is not very flexible as well. Or does anyone know another solution? Cheers
It would be cool if there is a possibility to export the flows as pdf. It would be beneficial when documenting for regulatory purposes.
Dear Figma support, 🤚 I’d like to suggest you improve your payment process when a user account is blocked for non-payment. 🙂 Currently, in the event of non-payment of an invoice within the allotted time, you block the account and display only a dialog box that blocks the user and forces him to contact Figma support via a ticketing solution. This process is frustrating, time-consuming and clearly a waste of time for both parties (Figma and customers). Why not propose a forced payment form for the invoice concerned in the dialog box, so that the negligent customer can unlock the account ? 👌 You could also provide a button to contact support and generate a ticket. 👍 This solution has the advantage of directly recovering the funds owed, avoiding a time-consuming and costly ticket for support, and quickly unblocking the situation for your customer ! I’m sharing this improvement with you because I personally encountered this problem today. I’m in France with a
Send an email or Figma notification to the requester of plugin when his/her plugin is approved. The requester has now no idea when his plugin can be used.
Sometimes, after updating a single or a group of master elements and adding an update log to the comment section, you may need to update them again. At this point, you need to recall the comment or leave the comment section empty. To solve this problem, let’s add a “Previous comment” section that shows the latest published comments for the selected master elements. Share your thoughts.
When using the app, I’m sure most of us have multiple Figma tabs open. At the moment, in the forest of tabs the only visible differentiation between the tab you’re on and all the others, is a slightly lighter shade of black. This is terrible. Please make it a CONTRASTING colour/shade, or allow the user to configure their own. As with all requests, this is of course very urgent 😉
When will the ability to filter and/or sort by Dev Mode seat access become available in the Admin dashboard’s Members view? Not all of my non-Designer users have access to the Dev Mode Beta right now, and I have to scroll up and down a list of 100’s of users to note who has that particular level of access.
I want to record and compare the specific changes of the component library each time it is released, so as to synchronize this information with other partners, but at present it seems that there is no way to achieve automation. I can only inform you verbally. I hope publish will expose these modification details.
Hey people, was working on a group component, for which had used nested property. As shown in the image below Seeing the above property panel options on the right, I realised that there can be an option to select, same property to be applied to all molecules or not. If yes then the property panel can be minimised to one single nested molecule’s properties, making it less overwhelming for the system users. Cheers!!
You know how you can change some of the values in the tool menus by positioning your mouse just so, so it turns into a double-sided arrow, and then dragging left or right? I want to do this alllllll the time with font size, but it’s so hard to position my mouse right on the tiny spot that lets me do it that I usually have to click into the box and use my up/down arrows instead. Would be great if the trigger area for making a quick change were just a few pixels bigger!!! Thank you!
Hi! Please let me know if something like this is already available or if any of you found a clever hack: My use case: I have a list item where designers can change the icon color into a limited set of other colors to fit their specific use-case. Just as we can create instance swap, boolean and text properties, I would love to be able to set a property on the color overrides where I can select prefered (or even better - limit) the colors the designers can pick. My current solution is to duplicate all component variants and only change the icon. This however makes the component huge.
is there a setting to make it so that when a mobile prototype is viewed on the phone, it isnt obscured by the notch or dynamic island?
Let’s imagine that we have a variable that we use for some number of elements, as we don’t want to create a separate one for each element (let’s say, a visibility variable - boolean “Visibility” with a default value = true). Now, as far as I know, there’s no way to point the state of this variable only for a certain element of this group. What I am looking for is how to control (eg. by a button or checkbox) the common variable but only in a certain context / frame / group / any nested element. Maybe by using some formula like .[frame name].[component name].[variable name] to point out precisely only the element whose state we want to change. Ofc now Figma allows naming components / frames / groups with the same names but I am sure that each element has its one unique id or any data that it would be possible to refer to in order to point out the element in which we want to change the state of the variable. That would help in reducing the number of variables, especially in large forms th
I am thrilled with visibility we now have into plugin usage by 7d, 30d, and 1y. This is great insight to help us manage our plugin approval. What would be great is to be able to export the data or get a better table view of plugin usage so we can scan all the usage data at once. It is tedious to go through and click on a plugin, click the usage tab, and than swap through the different timelines. If you create a table like this, or an export, it would be great Plugin name. Usage last 7 days Usage last 30 days Usage last year Style swapper 5 30 100 Thank you!
