Hi there! I’ve been trying out the ‘Suggest auto layout’ feature in the editor and I’m absolutely delighted with it. Kudos to the team 😋 This led me to think that it’d be incredibly helpful to have something similar while working with the Plugin API. Maybe it could be possible to add a method to FrameNode that suggests which layoutMode option to define later? I’d love to hear what others think about this idea. Best regards!
Please.
I’ve noticed that even in Dev Mode, properties for a dashed stroke do not show in the CSS or properties panel. For example, say you have this path: Suggestion I’d love to see the properties for some of the following (or something similar for free Viewers): <line stroke-linecap="round" stroke-dasharray="4 6"/> Context Currently, only the colors and thickness are displayed.
Mousewheel works perfect in desktop prototypes when we allow vertical or horizontal classic scrolling… But Is it possible to have mouse wheel UP/ mouse wheel DOWN interactions when scrolling is off. Imagine when scrolling is turned off to have the option to use mouse wheel to interaction between pages with Smart Animate. (eg. SlideIn/SlideOut with mouse wheel) It would be great and will opens the door more for pseudo scrollable pages with custom animations and paralax effects… So the idea is When scrolling is ON, then MOuseWheel Interaction should be grayed out(non-active), when scrolling is OFF - to have ability to use mouse wheel Up/Down as an interaction. WHat do you think?
It seems that FigJam connector lines copied over to Figma treat all component instances as if they were ‘flat’ objects. This means that connector lines won’t snap to any layers within a component instance (but will snap to layers inside the main component). There is a workaround (holding Cmd key when dragging) but the connector line won’t snap unless the top-level component is detached. What could be useful for many wireframing tasks is being able to connect specific layers within component instances (as component instances are helpful in making flows more digestible for colleagues and testers) Here’s a graphic trying to explain where the issue lies:
I am managing access of 80+ people to the one large file. I need to be able to enter list of the emails and select “remove” in the same way as I can Share Edit, Share View. Please.
It’d be cool if there was an option to display the connector line as organic (vs straight or squared currently), as they are easier to read on more complex mapping.
We used slides to build a deck that we send out to job candidates as an outreach document. Ideally we would like to get feedback from candidates, but don’t want them to see what others answered.
Where i get the new Figma config 24? i have request waiting list for a few month ago
I see this question has been asked before, but I’m wondering if anything has changed (looks like it was last asked in 2022). Say I have a master component containing 4 separate ‘blocks,’ with each block including an icon, body copy and a link. If I instert an instance of that component in my design, I know that I can easily delete one of the blocks and the component will adjust with no issues, but what if I want to add in say a 5th block…are we still unable to do that?
Figma is supporting Gravatar for the default avatar. There are two new features Gravatar recently launched, that could enhance the current experience. Full disclosure, I am from Automattic, and I am working on the Gravatar project team. New Gravatar API - Profile as a service The new Gravatar API supports more than just avatar images based on an email address. It enhances user profiles, simplifies onboarding, and personalizes user experiences. For example, in Figma, it could - for users that have a Gravatar profile - pre-fill profile information like name, location, “about me,” verified social media links, and more. Gravatar Quick Editor This new feature could simplify how Figma users update their avatars and profile data via Gravatar. The new Quick Editor allows users to directly edit and manage their Gravatar profiles within third-party platforms. The experience is similar to using a familiar payment service provider like PayPal or Stripe. Users click on a link, authenticate their ac
I need this desperately. We document all of process in Figma, so I need to keep old versions without updates so we can see the progress on the project. I would like to be able to apply component updates to a specific Figma page, not everywhere!!
Create your own Windows application. At the moment, Figma only works over the Internet, which greatly impacts performance, especially on older computers. Essentially this is the same browser, only with a closed address bar. There is no point in downloading the full desktop version if it is no different from the web version. Please make a full-fledged native application that will work better than the web version. Thank you for your attention!
When using auto layout the new UI update has moved the current width and height of a selected object to behind a hover state. Width and height only accessible via the hover state of the auto layout types (fixed, hug, fill). I often use the actual W and H of elements as a sense check for ensuring the design works within our design system. Please bring back the independent readings.
I decided to try out the beta to give some feedback on a design. I want to point an arrow from a sticky note to the back button in this screenshot (using screenshots bc we are auditing a deployed project): But it looks like the end of the arrow is locked to the edge of the image. I come from Miro. In Miro, you are able to point an arrow to the inside of an image / element. It will still snap to the edge, but when you drag further, it will un-snap.
Hello. Recently, I’ve been using my laptop with a small monitor and have noticed some issues affecting my workflow. I’ve recorded a video to demonstrate the problem - https://files.fm/f/z2n7ugrkmz . It concerns the color panel when selecting gradient colors. Each time I click on a color, I need to drag the color panel to the right, away from the layout. However, when I click on the second color, the panel jumps back to its original position, and I have to move it again. Wouldn’t it be more convenient if the panel remembered the position where the user initially placed it? This would be very helpful. Constantly moving the panel is quite annoying, especially when working within a single gradient. Please consider updating the panel to make it more convenient for those of us working on laptops. Thank you!
When I select two objects and click Ctrl+G to create a group, it creates two separate groups out of two objects. The same issue is with auto layout.
At minimum there needs to be a way to dynamically add in the slide number, but it would be great if there was a set of dynamic inputs: Current slide # Total slide #'s Date Author Collaborators Progress bar File name …there’s probably more I’m not thinking of.
I am using an overlay while hovering to show a tooltip on a clickable object, but when the overlay is opened I can no longer click on the button. Is there any way to allow objects to be clicked while there is an active overlay.
I wish the new UI had more flexibility to it. The containers are floating now but I can’t actually do anything with them. I would like to be able to have the option to either dock the containers or be able to grab onto them and move them around my screen wherever I see fit. I think this would be a cool opportunity that is provided by the UI3 changes. As it stands currently the toolbar being forced at the bottom is definitely my least favorite part of UI3.
We use Obsidian for our internal documentation and frequently share with one another links that start with obsidian://. Unfortunately, Figma sees this link type as invalid and, therefore, we must then paste it in as one big ugly blob. It would be nice for Figma to recognise that there are other protocols being registered on a computer and could allow these types of links in our design docs.
When I click on “Move option” at the menú of filename, appear a dialog that suggested to search project folder. In my case don´t show o list of projects folder. At the older version this function showed me a list of project without need to search them.
I wish Figma had a way to snapshot certain prototype interactions and create a link to that snapshot for review and approval, or add relevant documentation. This would make it so I don’t have to build redundant static mocks. Prototyping is far more powerful with variables, but means you can only see some interactions when viewing a prototype. This can make it difficult when submitting certain designs for other departments to review. We are currently finding the need to make the prototype for devs, then also mock up another static version to send for review, as reviewing prototypes are harder for our compliance process that needs static versions for documentation purposes.
Sometimes, I need to give more details about tagging an userflow for GA4, for example. But when I have text between two “_” (underlines), Annotation read that as an Italic one. Is there a way to disable it?
