The new Figma has presented challenges. The tool bar at the bottom takes away from the workspace. Ideally it would be great for each user to be able to set up their workspace (even if I have to do it once a day). Files and Assets Design/Prototype ToolBar it would be great if these could be movable cards that could be minimized, sized or expanded and placed where the user wants them. For example I would have: Expanded toolbar top left Files and Assets 2nd left Desking Protoytpe 3rd left. if I could then arrange the items in the Design/Prototype section so that the most used are available that would be great as well.
Ability to set the position of X and Y to be a percentage based off the parent This will be useful when the element is positioned absolutely. E.g. set Y to be 100% (will mean that it will always sit below the parent even if the parent or the element itself changes height) Example: This is particularly useful for dropdown components as the dropdown list changes size depending on how many options are shown and the parent height can fluctuate as well
This is something that affects all of us who work designing for Angular with CSS Grid, something that developers ask us and that we ask for in the design team. A few hours ago, I saw a tweet from Grilli Type, in which he defined it perfectly. Do you know if this will ever be possible? via x.com
It would be great if we have a bubble cursor in Prototype mode when the Device is set to NONE. I like the concept of bubble cursor, it gives more natural interaction to the prototype. but I’m trying to record a prototype with Device: None for minimal view, I get pointer cursor which is unnatural. It would be great if we have an option to enable or disable bubble cursor no matter whether device is selected or kept as NONE.
I think that in the part where you add value to the text size, there should be a ‘T’ icon with increment and decrement options using the mouse. Right now, there is only a 1px line on the left.
Hello Figma team, I would like to suggest that you can change the “scroll behavior position” within the prototype by device. Let me explain better: I need to activate Sticky for a component on the Desktop, but I don’t want to use Sticky within the Mobile version. Here’s a tip to allow us to change this condition instead of working with 2 component variants for each device. Thank you!
I would like to submit a request to add the ability to change the spacing between words in the text. There is space between letters, but there is no space between words. Please add this, especially since it is such a common CSS attribute. This is also one of the WCAG 2.1 AA requirements, which will soon become mandatory and it would be nice to be able to use it in Figma. WCAG 2.1 will require for AA, among other things: - Word spacing to at least 0.16 times the font size; Line height (line spacing) to at least 1.5 times the font size; Spacing following paragraphs to at least 2 times the font size; Letter spacing (tracking) to at least 0.12 times the font size;
Hello! Is there a way to have the prototype size auto-adjust to the slides size vice versa? Otherwise there’s an awkward background on the left and right edges of the prototype, and if I size the prototype any bigger, it gets cut off. Thanks!
As mentioned in title - Alt + mouse wheel up/down to go up/down layers tree. It would be super fast and easy, and our hand can stay on the mouse, ready for the next action.
I love to edit components directly in the copied object, it’s nice to edit something external to the main object. Then, if the result is nice I just “push changes to main component” is the best tool I’ve seen in my forgotten years working with design software but, if sometimes I made many changes in the object I just click in “reset changes”, ok, it’s fine. But for example now: I edited many copied items menu, one looks good and I updated the main, nice. But the others edited don’t get the new style then I will go to “reset all changes” and the new style apply to all object but I also lost the labels I changed in the items menu. Will be nice to have a “reset only styles” option to avoid lost component properties like text.
I’d like the divider to appear in Dev Mode.
It would be great to add .mp3 sound files into the prototype so you can simulate alarming or voice control scenarios.
I know it is possible to do this in prototype, and there are third-party tools that allow you to put a scrollbar on frames to give it the browser look, but it would be great if when clipping content of a desktop, tablet or mobile frame a scrollbar appears on the right and you can scroll through the content as if it was a browser in the design view.
After creating two different frames and applying auto layout, I selected both frames as “Fill container.” When I switch between vertical and horizontal layouts, the width should remain fixed. Both frames should automatically adjust their widths to equal sizes within the fixed frame. But now it’s not happening and it’s getting double work for us. Hi, I suggest implementing a search function within the nested instant dropdown menu. This would improve efficiency by enabling users to find specific components easily in case the list is too long.
I wanted to share a Figma slide with the community. Other files are available to share. But Slides are not available to share. why is this happening? Ask the community slides
This is a paradigm which is rampant in the audio technology and across all controls – knobs, sliders, enums, you name it – double clicking a control sets the value to or ‘center’. This would be FANTASTIC in Figma! Especially for (re)setting margins!
There is no Widget for FigJam to JIRA server integration, only for JIRA cloud exist. This is a big issue for us when thinking to change from Miro to FigJam
the Thick-Thin weight visual looks the same now in FigJam
I work with three different brands, each having its own set of variables for colors, sizing, etc. Our goal is to create a unified “mapped foundation” where we standardize colors for both light and dark themes. Once this is done, we integrate this file into our “alias foundation,” which organizes everything by brand. For example, let’s consider a button. Currently, I have a --clr-surface-button-primary variable defined in each brand’s “mapped colors,” allowing us to specify both dark and light versions. We then incorporate this variable into the component alias file, where we have a “brand foundation” set up with the same variable name, --clr-surface-button-primary. In this setup, I define three modes: brand 1, brand 2, and brand 3. Here, I assign the alias for the surface button from each brand’s mapped colors. Everything works well, but the issue arises when I create my file. I can switch brands, but Figma displays three variants of “mapped colors” instead of recognizing them as a sin
I would love a way to hide a specific frame’s layout grid. Currently, you can only turn all grids on/off or you need to remove a grid from a specific frame to hide it. I’d love to be able to preserve a frame’s grid, but temporarily hide it. My use case is having an overall grid for a page, but then creating another grid for a child component. It can be hard to see what frame each column belongs to.
The Figvar Plugin has the ability to create a companion variable that holds the formatting instructions for characters in a string variable. Would be great to make this a standard part of the way Figma works, so as to not need to handle this with a Plugin like Figvar. Please add a formatting attribute for text nodes to enable mid-sentence formatting to hold when characters are updated by variables
Everything started at the moment that I saw an UX case mobile interface showing elements with individual behavior in one single interaction. I’ve already used After Effects, ProtoPie, Lottie, Rive, and some other tools to try to make my animations and interactions more smooth and rich in details. I love Figma and how this tool is getting better, but I beg its staff to look upon with affection at Figma’s prototype and animation part. The run mode always starts to fail at some point when the interface becomes complex, losing performance. Also, we can’t create different animations/behavior on the elements bound on the same trigger, I mean, when you create a trigger like on tap, you also set all the animation configuration that will be the same no matter how elements will change on the second screen. And the most painful moment for me is to surrender to any of the other tools mentioned before to optimize and improve my prototype and animation design step. I really wish to use only Figma to
The title’s pretty self-explanatory; the issue is not impacting the overall experience. Right after hitting the “Create new team” I changed my mind and wanted to quit, but hitting the Esc button did not do that. The interface where this happened is (hopefully) uploaded right below. Although this was a small stop I encountered, I think it might be my problem to not immediate think about using a “cross,” which in this interface is located on the top right corner. However, I think that it might be common for people to use Figma in big screens, and that cross in the corner may not be noticeable for quite a while. I am on 13-in MacBook Pro. Do people have similar issues?
Highlight or inform if you are being followed by someone. I think it is important for us to know if we’re being followed (or stalked!) while working. Just my 5 cents.
