Since Figma is a basic browser application it will probably not be efficient to have a completely offline mode.
The application has already been offering an offline mode since a few months now, where the work done offline is kept in memory even when you close the application.
Could you please add the ability to create, modify, delete files and save design files offline, and the changes sync when you are online again. For example, Microsoft’s OneDrive has a “Always Keep on Device” Option for files in the user’s OneDrive.
Here is a use case for offline mode. The internet in our office is down today. I am currently tethered to a mobile hotspot to access figma. I would go home but my car is in the repair shop. I am unable to use any of my figma or figjam files. Having an offline mode that can auto-sync and save the changes once online again would be incredible!
Figma ~ where are we with this? I woke up to ‘can’t access offline message’ this morning.
Before the subscription model, I could work on my files anywhere or anytime. But I had to make a decision when you all switched to subscription and online only because I loathe subscriptions, i.e., I am sickened by paying for something I use on occasion.
[BTW - I don’t care if Figma is constantly ‘improving’ the product because it works well enough if I am using it ‘as is.’ And I don’t care if I can purchase Figma monthly because I am not getting anywhere near the total value you are placing on a month’s worth of usage.]
Now, I am held hostage by Figma’s ability to be online.
Blockquote Offline mode would be a game-changer for accessing design files, especially when working on home repairs in areas with spotty internet. Makes projects run a lot smoother!
