Manually swapping these is far too time consuming in Slides. For templates, gather the styles in one place and let me swap in bulk.
“In the prototype at destination action, I need a search option because I have many frames. Without it, navigating between frames takes too much time.”
My design systems team today is working towards integrating with ZeroHeight to provide documentation across the org. This made me wonder, will Figma ever encompass design systems through to documentation? If Figma had a sub-platform for creating a design system manager (similar to ZeroHeight, DSM), this would really streamline workflows as all assets in Figma would seamlessly translate accordingly. 🤞
I really like answering people’s questions about Figma in “Ask the Community”, but there’s a lot of questions about Slides… Which I don’t use. So having either a Slides category, like for FigJam, or a Sub category in the “Ask the community” category —if that’s possible— would clean up the forum a bit.
In Adobe XD (from which I hate to draw positives), when I am working with a container with an overflow, I have watermarked visibility to its contents. I can even work with those elements while the container is in focus. When working with lists of data which need to tell a story, Figma makes it very difficult to work and adjust this content without isolating the elements elsewhere. Can we please get some more meaningful interactivity with overflow elements in Figma???
Hello, I would like to recommend a feature to Figma’s file analytics page. For UX KPI purposes, it would be great if we could track how many hours we’ve been active in a specific file (not hours a file has been open). This would be a useful feature for quantifying certain value add for personal goals or KPIs.
When defining components and creating instances of them, I really wish that I could allow them to have other elements as children (like text and non-component frames), without having to turn those into a component and use the instance swap property. Forgive me if this is just a newbie problem – as I’m a programmer learning Figma for personal use – but it makes it more difficult for me to build components in a way that represents how I would actually build them in code. I’ll use a modal as an example. In code, I might define a ModalContainer component which is composed of a backdrop and a floating panel (with layout properties), and which accepts children as props that get rendered inside the panel. Then when using it somewhere, I can just put whatever I want in it, like so: <ModalContainer> <Text>Some text</Text> <Image /> </ModalContainer> In Figma though, I can’t seem to do something this. I can create a component for the modal container and makes i
Hi, I would like to suggest/share an idea of having a reset current changes for cases that users not remember all the changes they made and wanted to reset all changes or maybe there will be a list of files that are being changed and pick which one to reset its changes. I hope this will be noticed. Thank you in advance!
The ability to have a “link” from one element to another. Linked here is a widget that someone created that essentially does what I’m suggesting. Having this be native within FigJam would be amazing. A clean, straightforward design is all that is needed. You could also improve on the creator’s design by allowing the option to link to items on different pages
Hello there, Imagine this: You’re in the middle of a creative zone, and suddenly you need to check the blend mode settings. Instead of a quick glance, you have to dig through menus, disrupting your flow and maybe causing those annoying “brain freeze” moments. Bringing the blend mode option back to a more visible spot, like before, would streamline the workflow, bring peace of mind, and reduce the chances of forgetting it. Filling the gap while adding a useful feature ?🤔 Switching between iOS and default settings feels cumbersome. I always wished there was an easier way to make these adjustments on the fly. After all if you Need a custom percentage Just click the corners icon, and the percentage appears for precise customization, Just like before. best regards
Looks like you can only link text from FigJam to an external file, you can’t link a section or an image to a file outside your board. Does anybody have any kind of hacky way around that?
Am I missing something? If I frame two instances/add auto layout, is there any way to expose the properties from the instances in the sidebar when I select that frame? I’m using the Selection variants plugin which is super nice to have, but would prefer to not have to launch a plugin for this. Also, relying on other designers being aware of this when handling my files isn’t optimal.
Hi, I am making sets of components with 3 or more interactions with it and I most of the time need to recall or memorize what I have done to the set of interactions in my first component. See attached image I would like to express my idea regarding the component interactions of having an auto-ordering by default and it’s up to the users if they want to rearrange it base on their goals. Like, if I add another interaction, it will automatically insert where the interaction be placed. Additionally, it also need to have a reset button to get back to the default setting. I hope this will be noticed. Thank you in advance!
I’ve never understood why the border-radius input in Figma never accepted multiple comma separated values for uneven corner radius like the auto layout spacing fields do, makes sense to me to allow for that instead of having to open another pane to do it. It could work exactly as the old auto-layout spacing fields used to when they accepted 4 values in one field, following CSS multi value logic of clock-wise direction: [value1: top left], [value 2: top right], [value 3: bottom right], [value 4: bottom left] I Understand it then makes that smooth corners setting rather lonely in the pane then, but I would appreciate little speed boosts like this. What do you think?
I believe that bringing Figma-designed components into FigJam for board work is a key feature that ensures fluidity between Figma and FigJam. This is undoubtedly a competitive and unique feature of FigJam compared to other whiteboard-based programs. However, while using Figma components in FigJam on a PC is generally smooth, issues arise when opening FigJam files with these components on an iPad: When moving the entire FigJam content or creating sections on the iPad, the fonts of the components get corrupted. Not only do the fonts get corrupted, but occasionally Auto Layout arrangements also break. The issue affects not just one component but all components within the FigJam file, including thumbnails. This is not a one-off bug; I have already reached out to the support team about it, but was informed that it is considered a limitation of the current feature. I was also told that posting on the forum might make the development team aware of the issue. I believe that utilizing compone
I have been learning about auto layout for the past few days and understand that breakpoints allow you to create a more responsive layout. I was trying to implement that until I noticed when it was time to transition from the mobile design to the tablet design, the header’s design got distorted. I don’t know if I didn’t use the correct auto layout method which has caused this issue that I can’t solve or if it is the breakpoints method that I am still trying to learn. The first upload is how it looks when I stretch or make the frame wider to become a tablet size. The second upload i show it should appear (auto layout and breakpoints aren’t incorporated on the second one but this is how it should look).
Like the title says, the addition of prototyping features to slides would be cool. Like clicking a button to jump to a specific slide.
To enhance the workflow between Figma and After Effects, it would be great to be able to save Figma Assets as .eps files since After Effects does not support .svg, which cause an extra work step - firstly saving .svgs and converting them as .eps or .ai. I have tried using AEUX Plugin as well to bring the Figma Assets into After Effects. It is great for small scenes. However, for the bigger compositions, it does not yet work properly - as a result Figma either crashes, or there are too many precomps produced in After Effects, which is not the most optimal way to animate objects. Therefore, to enhance the workflow between Figma and After Effects and still have the possibility to manually arrange scenes in After Effects, it would be great to have an opportunity to export assets as .eps. This will save an extra work step of converting .svg files. Thanks a lot!
I just wanted a simple grid of some cards with single words inside them. I ended up with a cookbook.
As a design system owner, I want to enable other users to easily rebrand the design system without having to duplicate the entire library file just to modify variables. By allowing users to view all remote/library variables and create local ones to overwrite them as needed, we can maintain a single, consistent design system as the base, greatly improving future maintainability. Proposed Solution: A simple addition to the interface could look like this: With this menu entry, users would be able to easily view ‘Remote/Library Variables’. The values displayed would be ‘muted’, but users would have the option to click on them and set different values using the default color picker: Once this feature is implemented, users would only see the variables they own under ‘Local Variables’, making the rebranding process much smoother and more intuitive. Thank you for considering this enhancement. It would greatly improve the flexibility and usability of design systems within Figma.
When using figjam for retros & other co-creation workshops it’d be very useful to have an integration with streaming platforms like Spotify or Youtube. Nowadays, we use google meets or slack for online workshops instead of using figjam’s conversations; there, we can share music through the “present tab” feature.
I’m sure a lot of people know if they want px-based or a percent-based values to adjust their line height and letter spacing. If “Percentage” was a variable option, then I’d just have chosen it the first time set up all my typography variables for letter spacing. I was surprised when I applied the variables that I carefully planned out to my text and it didn’t space the text as I expected. So, why can’t Figma just introduce a fifth type of variable option that is just for specific percentages when you click “+ Create variable”??
just add shortcut for this option
It would be nice to have a feature to record certain actions (size, gaps etc) and apply that multiple times. This is required as multi-layer selection does not support such a scenario.
