We were excited to start using the new GitHub plugin for Dev Mode, but have been blocked from using it because of the GitHub permissions it is requiring.

As Enterprise users, we have compliance requirements to not let any third-party plugins have write access to our repositories, and the plugin currently requires “Full control of private repositories”, which is too broad given the plugin only reads files to display them in the plugin panel.

I imagine a lot of companies with similar requirements (and large codebases, which is arguably where that plugin becomes the most useful) are currently blocked with the same issue.

Please consider reducing the scope of these permissions so we can start using the plugin 🙂
