Default permission settings

It would be very helpful to be able to set all new files to be public/private by default instead of needing to go into every file and change that setting. Does anyone have any work arounds/automations/tips for doing this with a shortcut?

Hi @Tal3 , Thanks for writing in! I’ve been searching internally to see if there’s any workaround for this. However, I think it’s not currently possible to set the default setting for file sharing. Each file will need to be updated individually.

So, this seems like a feature request for me. I can see how what you’re asking can be useful for other users. I have shared this feedback with our internal team for future consideration, and moved this topic to share an idea for votes!

Thank you,

This is something we definitely need. It’s getting really tedious to have to remember to share each and every preview and Dev Mode link every time we release a design.

Please. We have client projects in a client folder. They will always need to be view public so we would like a default setting for that folder. Currently to make each version of a prototype view public is super annoying and requires a number of steps and loading time. There is no quick LINKS section under PROTOTYPE to control permissions easily - or even view them. It’s a train wreck. XD solved this issue a few years back already.

If I copy a prototype on a DRAFTS personal account, it retains the permissions set on the protoype, but on the PROJECT folder, it resets the permission, meaning, I keep having to add the view permissions PER file for EACH VERSION file we make (we isolate versions into seperate files, so that they are locked like that, for referral to them)
