I think that’s the new feature “nested components” need to be more functional. For example: I have a card with nested component button. But the only parameter that i need to edit is icon on this button, all other settings useless in this component. I thinks it will be cool if i can disable some of nested component’s paramters like show icon or btn size and leave only icon-type parameter. And it will be more cool if i can make preferred icons for nested component (in this card i can choose between filled like or unfilled)
Hi Figma team,I recently created a Figma site for my app and really love the experience. However, I need to upload a file called app-ads.txt to the root of my domain. This file is required by AdMob to verify ownership of the app and allow us to display ads.Is there any way to host or upload this file directly in a Figma site? Thanks in advance!
As a developer, I would like to be able to sort the “Ready for development” section in the left pane by most recent changes. This way I could know what changed more easily than having to scroll through hundreds of elements trying to find what might be relevant.
I think that when there are only two options, a drop-down menu is unnecessary; instead, we could opt for other options that speed up the process, as they don’t require two clicks to make a selection.
In FigJam, it makes sense that tables have a computed size based on the size of the rows and columns. However, in slides, it might make more sense to have width and height be a fixed properties of the table. I’m finding myself having to resize the table constantly to fit it within the slides / margin guides.
I recently ran into a serious issue while working with different primitives in a large file.It may be an edge case, but when it happens, it is something very difficult and time-consuming.After renaming one primitive that was used across many layers, the file ended up containing several “missing variables” (which you can't find by searching). Some layers still referenced variables that were no longer visible or easy to find. The result was an inconsistent document where certain modes (for example Dark Mode) were still applied somewhere, but there was no clear way to locate them.In a complex file with thousands of layers, this becomes extremely difficult to resolve. I eventually fixed it, but it required manually checking large parts of the document.Right now, we can search for many things in the file (components, layers, text, etc.), but we cannot search for primitives and token that are applied to layers.A feature that would help a lot:Allow searching for primitives and token in the do
Hello, I really hope in presenter mode, the presenter notes could remain at the bottom rather than displayed on the side. I believe many presenters rely on notes, and having them on the side can cause unnatural eye and head movement, which may create a less polished impression, especially in interviews.
We do many presentations in multiple languages and the process is extremely cumbersome as each time we make a design change in one presentation, we have to duplicate it in all different languages. What would be a killer is the introduction of a Text Layer in Figma Slides. You would select one text layer across the deck and build the whole presentation in a given language. You could add another text layer that would replace the first one with another language etc. Hence, before presenting, you would select one particular language and here we go. If some design changes in the presentation have to occur, you make them in the “core presentation” and it would apply automatically to all layers. Think of the number of presentations that have to be duplicated to be translated in multiple languages today. It would definitely be a game changer and a reason for many companies to immediately switch to Figma (including ours).
The current libraries styles search is a fuzzy search in which it shows close matches like different colors of green when searching for green. This is nice for being able to see similar results to the search parameter but is frustrating when typing an exact variable name and it returns another variable that is related but not match. The example I’m providing below if from a color library that has both the color ‘lime’ and ‘green’. If I search for green my results show the ‘lime’ results first and I have to scroll for the exact match of ‘green’. I have run into the same issue with ‘indigo’ and ‘purple’.This interaction could be improved by rearranging the results to show exact match results at the top and the fuzzy matches below. If someone takes the time to type a keyword that matches their variables they shouldn’t have to scroll for their result. Top results when searching for green. Would expect my exact search result to be the top result rather than the fuzzy match of lime (green)
Hi there! we are currently looking in to transferring our communication team to Figma Buzz. Previously we created templates for our socials in Figma and used custom widgets for specific cases like scalable text highlights with rounded inner corner etc.. We believe Figma Buzz might be the right tool for them since we can connect our design system libraries but unfortunately we are not able to use our custom widgets in Buzz. We tried to create a Buzz plugin but this only work in edit mode, not in template mode. would love to hear if the community encounters similar limitations in Buzz! have a nice one!Brecht
It will be great if the file owner can set viewer rights when we share file with others. The viewer rights can include: Restrict file downloading on demand Restrict copy on demand Restrict share on demand
Figma Make project ➔ Make settings ➔ General ➔ Images ➔ Favicon + Social sharing image. Question: how do I remove unnecessary images? Is there such a feature? If not, will it be possible to delete unnecessary images in the future? I'm attaching screenshots.
Hi Figma. Really trying to give Slides a go, as I’d rather use anything over powerpoint, but I keep running into features stripped from the Figma Design that remaking it impossible to continue. For one, I cannot understand why I can’t access the variable library. My slides were imported from a file that had a deprecated library, with colors and modes that are totally unused by the assets I imported. There simply does not seem to be a way to remove those… at all. They’re permanently stuck in this presentation unless I want to start from scratch. Currently I’m making a table but I’m unable to vertically center text within a cell. This is a hard requirement for making tables that look good that use the type styles I'm defining elsewhere… otherwise I have to manually set the line height to match the table cell height which is nuts. I also created a symbol that consisted of a text box and rectangle to act as an off-center highlighting. I was unable, fully unable to tie the text in that symb
In slots ProblemWhen using Auto Layout with Fill container, a slot is treated as a single layout item, even if it contains multiple children. As a result, only the slot itself participates in space distribution, while its children can only divide the slot’s assigned space. In an Auto Layout container, when multiple items have width = Fill container, space is distributed evenly across those items.Example:Container width: 150px Items: 1 (Column header), 2 (Column header), 3 (Slot) → Each item gets 50pxNow, if I place multiple column headers inside the slot:3 (Slot → A, B, C)The space is currently distributed like this:Column 1 → 50px Column 2 → 50px Slot → 50px, which is then split internally A → 16.6px B → 16.6px C → 16.6px Expected behaviorSlot children should optionally behave as independent layout participants, so the layout becomes:Column 1 → 25px Column 2 → 25px A → 25px B → 25px C → 25pxIn other words, items inside a slot should be able to participate directly in the parent Auto L
Beware of this, people. This is such a hidden scam.
Right now, it’s easy to copy content from Illustrator into Figma, but not the other way around. I don’t think that’s fair or beneficial for designers who work across multiple tools.Better interoperability between platforms would make workflows much smoother. Many of us use both Illustrator and Figma depending on the stage of the project, and being able to move vectors back and forth reliably would save time, reduce friction, and support more flexible creative processes.Design tools should not trap work inside their own ecosystem. Cross-platform compatibility helps designers, teams, and ultimately the quality of the work. Please improve copy-paste/export compatibility from Figma back into Illustrator.
Hi peeps. I’ve been updating my existing components that have instance swap elements for the new slots feature where they’re appropriate to use and I was wondering if it is possible to set the element automatically in the slot to “fill” width without having to do it manually?
I’m trying to use Figma Buzz to create some templates. We have an icon library that uses a swap instance property within the component to swap out the icon as well as a property to define the size of the icon. As you can see in the image, it is only showing that first property of size of the icon and doesn’t let me switch out the actual icon with the instance swap. Is this a bug or limitation? If I click one more time it does show me my nested instance property where I can turn on the fill of the icon, but I don’t see how to access all the icons through the instance swap property we have on the component. This image shows the replacements it’s offering me, which is to only change the size of the icon. This image shows our original component we have size properties to define the size of the icon, and then an instance swap to choose the actual icon. Are we doing this wrong for this to be useful in Figma Buzz. Why can’t we see this other property in Figma Buzz?
We would love better support for URL’s in Figma Sites. Specifically:Support for `/` in page URL. ie, `/legal/privacy-policy`. Currently this wont work, it will rename to `/legalprivacy-policy` Control over redirects, for remapping pages that don’t exist. Support for 404’s pageUse CaseWe have migrated from another platformIn the old platform we had urls like `/legal/privacy-policy`. These URL’s don’t work in Figma Sites because the slash gets stripped. This means that all of page links that were previously working are broken. We don’t have a way to recreate pages at the same URL because the `/` is stripped. We also don’t have a way to redirect users to an alternative pageThe reason why this is important is many of your users will be migrating from other systemsProposalModify your URL’s to allow `/` characters. Don’t strip them Allow users to create pages that redirect to other pages. Support for 404 pagesNumber 1 is priority for us, with number 2 and 3 secondary. Thanks!
Hey folks,Figma's latest color tokens search update has added a new behavior to searching. I use my Primary token a lot, and I'm used to searching for "prima" for it to show up. Since this last update, searching for that makes my Disabled (#AAAAAA), token show up first, due to it having "A" in it's hex color code.My personal view is that it should weigh my search content in order to decide which content is shown, since I'm most likely not searching for "Disabled". Nonetheless, loved the other improvements that came with this update.Would love for you to share your opinion about it! Color token search panel, searching for "prim" and "prima"
Would love to be able to switch with a keyboard shortcut from ‘as typed’ case to ‘uppercase’ , ‘lowercase’ and ‘Sentence case’. Similar to switching through text styles with option+cmd+> which is very useful.
New feature request: Some visual feedback when editing a component instance and overriding, so that it’s clear that the current edit will only be an override within that instance. Sometimes you or a new editor may mistakenly edit (override) in one or more instance when the edit should actually be made in the master component so that it cascades to all the instances. In large files, with multiple editors, its easy to miss or forget that the text or element being edited is actually part of a component. It would be a nice, realtime reminder that the edit is only going to apply to that instance, so if your intention is not to make an isolated override, then you can head on over and update the master component.
It’s quite annoying when every time I select any component or shape etc, I need to click at the “show more properties button”, it makes me fill time
It would be helpful provide options to edit the appearance of frame and section titles. When I lay out my files, I like to label frames and sections in the artboard so that a person not familiar with the project can quickly see which frames deal with a specific feature. The titles for frames and sections are hard to see when scanning for a specific frame. I could see frame titles being editable or interactive in the following ways (I am sure there could be others): Font size Font weight Font color A feature where a user hovers over the title and it becomes larger.
I often find myself navigating to Bootstrap’s Icon website to download .svgs and drop them into my Figma file. Can’t even tell you how many duplicates I’ve probably created (probably would’ve been smart for me to start organizing these better) that exist in my downloads. Regardless, I’m surprised Figma doesn’t have an icon library where I can just drag-and-drop svgs directly into my project? Or, does this exist and I am missing it entirely?Just a thought.
