Question

Text decoration z-index, text highlighting

This may be a hacky way to achieve what should probably be a standalone text decoration style (highlight)… but with the addition of underline styling, you can basically setup a highlight

The issue is that the underline appears over the text.

It would be great to have to option to set the position or z-index of the underline to appear behind the text?

Thanks Tank! Krystian’s approach is nice - and works for me, but it still requires 2 styles in order to achieve the end result.

My question was more on requesting the ability to set the z-index of an underline, similar to the settings for skip ink - so selecting over text or under text. Wouldn’t seem to difficult to add to the API.

Though a dedicated highlight decoration type with similar capabilities may be more straightforward.

Oddly, my team is having the same issues. However, half the team sees the text OVER and the other half sees it BELOW. Same color variable. Same text style. Same file. We can’t figure out what’s going on. But, it is making this effect un-usable because we ALL can’t see the “highlight” effect correctly.

Did you figure it out?
