Let us know what would make Figma better for you.

I’m hoping for a Figma Make integration for Gitlab like they did for Github so I can more easily share the code with developers at my company. I think the workaround is to download a zip from Figma Make and place into a project in an IDE like VSCode to then connect to Gitlab. It’s not ideal, especially for designers.Hopefully I’m not missing a better solution that exists.
It would be very helpful to allow the Review updates modal to be resizable and for the image(s) shown to scale accordingly. When a large number of components are being updated it is tedious to have to continually zoom in and out depending on the size of the component. Being able to make the modal larger with an auto scaled visual of the components would save a lot of time.
Hello Figma Team,I really appreciate the new sidebar update and the overall improvements to the interface. However, I would like to share a usability concern regarding the vertical ruler.Currently, the sidebar overlaps and hides the vertical ruler, which makes it difficult to quickly access and place guides without collapsing the entire panel. This interrupts the workflow and adds unnecessary friction during design tasks, especially when working with alignment-sensitive layouts. It would be greatly appreciated if the vertical ruler could remain visible within the canvas area, even when the sidebar is expanded. I believe this small adjustment would significantly improve the overall user experience for many designers.Thank you for your continued efforts and improvements to the platform.
I’ve been looking into how I can leverage the new MCP server functionality in my design-to-dev handover process, but have been struggling with a few issues. As a means of speeding up my web design process, I have created singular components (no variants) that use variables for spacing, typography etc. These variables relate to modes like Wide Desktop, Desktop, Tablet, Mobile. My idea is that I’d like the MCP to read the singular component and be able to extract all the variables information across all modes and map those values to Tailwind classes (such as pt-4 md:pt-6 lg:pt-8 etc..) With a fair bit of back-and-forth, I’ve been able to recreate a passable version of my designs, but only for a single instance - this using variables from the default/first variable mode. So it’s not ideal to select one frame/screensize at a time and prompt the agent to recreate it - the code output can get messy pretty quickly.Do we know if there if Figma have release plan for the MCP to be able to read mu
Hi everyone! I have seen a lot of posts here about having to detach a fill of a layer in order to change the opacity and asking for opacity to be also able to save as its own variable, but this is not exactly my wish. I wish to define a variable that has a not a 100% fill, but rather references another color variable and has a different opacity without having to detach the referenced variable. Example use case:Alert component with 3 variants. In this case the “color” variable is the background in the first of the 3 variants (from left to right) and also the text and stroke color in the other two variants. “background” variable in this case only the background in the 3rd variant. In light mode it is a light blue, but a solid light blue. In dark mode, instead of having to define a whole new “dark-gray-ish blue” color to reference here, I would just like to reference the “info/main” variable, with an opacity so that we stick to the same color. For FE, this makes no sense, seeing this, h
Hey guys! I'm a product designer and a Figma lover. For along of those years, I saw Figma grown up and become even better, bringing to us designers a lot of new possibilities to work. But this is my first time that I want to request a feature ASAP, since creates a lot of pain. Hope everyone see this topic as something really useful too.So, I usually works on web applications and thus I need to design both mobile, tablet and desktop version of the web pages. And, when we speak about Design System, we need to make sure that our components will adapt on each screen, no matter the viewport size. So, bringing this discussion to a real case: I made a component for my DS called “chip” with some variants as we can see on this print: The width’s component need to follow their inner content to keep growing on the sides as we can see:but this growing effect (which is possible glad the ‘hug’) need to stop when reach the max width from the chip’s parent container and this, Figma can’t help me. So, th
Took me a minute this morning to find the new placement of the publish button for figma make prototypes. This is an action I am frequently doing as I push changes/updates to those who have access to the designs. I liked the old placement of this much better which wasn't buried two levels deep. With this latest change, putting it under the share button > publish > 1st line item - it is less clicks to change the URL of the prototype which is share button > ‘update’ icon, which is an action I would never want to do. If anything updating the URL of the prototype should be several levels deep; not publishing changes.
I think the branching feature is very interesting and I can see it being of great use to my team as we are moving from Adobe XD to Figma. However, I would love to see a search functionality when browsing the branches in See all branches. I can see a potential issue in the future when looking for a specific branch made months ago. My idea is to use a branch for each JIRA ticket and name it accordingly. A search functionality would greatly help with the trackability of each design change.
Ability to create modal windows via "Open Overlay" is very convenient, but it would be nice to be able to use a specific token to darken the background in the "Background" section, so that the user would be able to change the tint or opacity for all modal windows at once, rather than each one individually.
After a late switch from Sketch to Figma about six months ago, here is my conclusion regarding the UX of Figma:While Figma has many great features that Sketch does not have (dev mode, way more capable prototyping, variables,…) the general UX of the tool is just sooo bad! Here are the things that annoy me most:Visibility of functions: There are so many functions hidden below a small icon that has no label. Much stuff is hard to find. And what drives me really nuts: When a function is not available, then its UI element (or entry in context menu) is hidden – not disabled! I’m using Figma for UX Design, and it just feels so wrong to use this tool that does not handle UX basics correctly itself. Library management – publishing components: You can do this from the book button on the top left where you usually update components from other files, but publishing is mixed in here if you click on “This file”. But then you can only publish all changes. If you want to publish only a few changes,
Hi Figma team and community,I'd like to suggest reverting (or making optional) the loading animation behavior during AI image generation.Current behavior: When generating an image with AI, the Frame displays a dark blue gradient animation while waiting. This completely covers the canvas area and blocks visibility of all layers above the image layer.Previous behavior: The loading state used to show a transparent checkered background, which allowed me to continue editing other layers and making layout adjustments while the image was being generated in the background. Why this matters: The dark blue animation blocks the entire work area during generation It's no longer possible to edit or inspect layers above the image while waiting This interrupts the design workflow, especially for longer generation times Suggested fix: Revert the loading animation back to transparent, or Add a user preference to choose between the two behaviors Thank you for considering this!
When I open the plugin, a connection error is displayed, and registration/login is unavailable.Help me!
Dear Figma official team,Hello! We are a formal enterprise located in Chinese mainland, and we intend to purchase your Figma enterprise version service. Now we consult you about invoice related issues:Can your company issue formal valid invoices for enterprises in Chinese mainland? What types of invoices can be provided? Can it be used for domestic enterprise financial reimbursement and account entry? What are the specific steps and requirements to apply for invoices after payment? Can the invoice be issued with our full Chinese company name and complete enterprise information as the invoice title? Please tell us the relevant detailed rules of invoice issuance, so that we can complete the subsequent payment and financial procedures.Looking forward to your reply, thank you very much!Best regardsYour nameCompany nameContact information
There is a great feature in Notion called “close redirecting browser tabs” This is a setting that, when toggled on, automatically closes a browser tab when a page open in the desktop app. It would be great if Figma had this feature as well. When I click on Figma links, I end up with lots of browser tabs like this, because the pages open in the Figma desktop app. I would love if these tabs auto-closed.
Hello,I always enjoy using Figma Design and FigJam.I use FigJam for organizing Minecraft addon development and system design, and as projects become larger, I’ve started encountering difficulties balancing “the amount of information inside nodes” with overall readability.Currently, FigJam is extremely effective for:mind mapping organizing ideas visualizing dependencies structuring systems and architecturesHowever, as projects scale up, each node tends to require a large amount of detailed information, such as:identifiers recipes geometry references technical notes implementation status tags JSON-related information various propertiesIf all of this information is displayed at all times, the overall board quickly becomes difficult to read and manage.Because of this, I would love for you to consider adding:“Expandable / collapsible node functionality”For example:Normally, a node would display only a simple summary Pressing a button would expand detailed information A larger text area or s
Make a copy button is prominent and copy button is almost ununderstandableI have been using Figma Make a lot recently and keep running into the same UX issue. On the top-right of the interface, there are two very similar actions:Copy Design (small icon button) Make a copy (large primary button)The problem is that visually, “Make a copy” is much more prominent, so muscle memory makes me click it almost every time when my actual intention is to copy the generated design into my working file.Instead of copying the generated design, it creates a completely duplicated file, which is not what I want most of the time. Why this feels confusingBoth actions are essentially “copy-related” actions:“Copy Design” → copies the generated output into my file “Make a copy” → duplicates the whole fileBecause of this:the terminology feels overlapping the hierarchy feels inverted the more destructive / less frequent action is visually emphasized moreSuggestionsI think this could be improved in a few ways:Opt
It is quite frustrating that there is no search function in the expanded available frame list when adding the open overlay action to a trigger. When numerous frames are created, locating the target frame for linkage becomes difficult. Dragging to set interactive links is convenient, yet cumbersome when working on an oversized canvas. Additionally, a single trigger supports multiple actions, and dragging fails to create interactive links when adding a second action. I really wish there was a search function for available overlays.
The function to lock to a current zoom percentage (usually 100%) to keep the sense of scale consistent. I don’t think I’m the only one that has a difficulty with the sense of scale when designing and I believe that the ability to prevent zooming may help this or build a better sense of scale throughout a design.
As written in the documentation (Prototype interactions and animations) the destination of a Scroll to action can only be an element of the same top-level frame. But with this limitation it is impossible to prototype a common navigation pattern. On one-pagers there are often floating menu for intrapage links. E.g you have an hamburger icon that opens a menu overlay from where you can scroll to a specific page section. This can’t be realized with an Figma overlay because of the restrictions mentioned above. There is a workaround, but it seems that it only works because of a bug: You can set the menu overlay as an child of the top-level frame of the one-pager, define the Scroll-to actions and then move the menu outside the frame (as an separate top-level layer) to show it later as an overlay. By doing this all the Scroll-to actions still work, but when you change an action the target will be rested and the navigation is broken. Working Example Maybe you can remove the restrictions that t
I’m sharing the Figma Buzz link but it always go back to Asset View.It would be nice to toggle and decide which default view the viewer see from the link.
This is really strange to me. I have a “Team”, apparent only from the URL, none of the UI elements show whether or not I’m dealing with an organization or a team. This team has members, whom I pay for, and the seats are set up for each one of them. They are all listed under the URL “…..team/<id>/team-admin-console/members...”, and show up properly. When I access “...team/<id>/all-projects….” and press the small down-arrow next to the Team name, and select “show members”, only my account is visible. The experience is this: all of the people in the team(shown under the team-admin-console) need to be manually approved/invited to each file for editing, even though they have been invited and accepted into the team.According to the documentation: “For example: if you invite someone to a team, they’ll have access to the projects and files in that team, based on the permissions you give them (can view or can edit). If you invite someone to a specific file, but not the team, they get
It would be great if you could add support for audio files in Figma Slides — with options like play on click, autoplay, and loop.At the moment, we need to convert audio files into video files just to make them work.
It would be great to have a simple toggle to show or hide the layout grid directly in the Properties panel — only for the current frame I’m in or for the ones I have selected.Sometimes I just need to view the design without the grid, and right now I have to go into Styles and manually toggle the visibility there.A quick “eye” icon or similar control for layout visibility per selection would make this much faster and more intuitive.
Having the ability to create subfolders within Projects would be a huge plus. For small to large teams. Please consider this, thank you.
We love our FigPals, please dont take them away😭
