Lost hours and hour of work

I started to try using agents to help find some holes in the my designn system but I asked it to make a simple one variable change and it disconnected everything variable in my whol design system. Losing hours and work. It could not fix the problem. I will not be using figma agents again. Has this happened to anyone else??

I understand that the variable connections across your design system were disconnected after you asked the agent to make a single variable change. I can appreciate the impact this has had after losing hours of work.

I’ve created a support ticket so the team can take a closer look at what happened. Your ticket number is #2098084.

When you have a moment, please reply to the ticket with:

  • Debug details: Click Copy debug details below the chat that triggered the issue. It appears as a small, circled i icon. This will open a window with debug details you can copy. Please paste those details into your ticket reply so the team can investigate. If this option doesn’t appear, please let us know.
  • Screenshots: Include a screenshot showing your prompt and the agent’s response.
  • Impacted file: Share a link to the impacted file and invite support-share@figma.com with Can view access, then click Invite.

If you haven’t made any other changes since the affected prompt, you can try clicking Undo in the agent chat or using Cmd/Ctrl + Z. If Undo doesn’t resolve the issue, or if you’ve continued editing the file since then, you can check the file’s version history for a checkpoint from before the variable connections were affected. Restoring a previous version is non-destructive, so your current version will remain available in the file’s history.

  • The approximate date and time this occurred
