Rolling out: Projects become folders 📂 ✨
Let us know what would make Figma better for you.

A button saying “Your content is out of view” when you are in a blank section of canvas and want to return to where you have content. For those of you who are familiar with Framer, there is a button that does exactly this and I have found it quite useful.
Our team loves the new variables. In particular, we’ve found it helpful to manage UI copy translations. I would love to be able to import the string variables from a CSV into the variables collection and their respective modes. This way, I could collaborate with our translators and then import all the strings into Figma variables at once. Thanks!
Hi, there is some problem with me, I paid by 1 year. Why does locked my project? I just test figjam 1 day with my friend, and I didn’t have any information that I must pay for 2 seats. It’s unacceptable!!! How can I fix that?? Do I must pay for the 2 seats then unlock the project???
I spend hours or days working in a file. Comments on previous files I’ve worked on are missed because the notification bell and badge aren’t viewable when you’re in a file.
When scanning my text styles for one I want, its hard to differentiate them from the folders containing them in the right side toolbar. Can we make them bold or zebra stripe them or something? I have emojis in there now, which helps, but it seems like this should be built into the ui, especially since many people wouldnt know you can put emojis there, and it could make things wonky for devs depending on how they export.
Currently (to my knowledge) there is no way to create a Pressed state in an interactive component that also toggles, such as a radio button or checkbox. Currently, when using the “while pressing” interaction, on release it always goes back to the prior state. For example, if you want distinct hover and press states for a radio button, it will send you back to the hover state with nothing selected while pressing. Instead, I’d like it to change to the selected state instead. It’s subtle, but if you look at Uber’s radio button, it has distinct hover, press, and selected states. I don’t want to be forced to remove my intended press state just because Figma can’t display an interactive component this way. The solution would look like an option to “Set release destination” in the prototype panel when “while hovering” is selected.
It is completely bonkers that search results can’t be refined further than “your entire organization.” Our organization has hundreds of teams, tens of thousands of files. I need to search inside teams, and inside projects. Ideally I need to search inside subfolders that live in those projects - it will always be so strange that we can’t make subfolders - but I don’t want to ask for too much at once. 🙂
Please add input search, is difficult searching components :c
It would be helpful to have objects on a frame and then have the ability to show them when you hover over something or click on something. UXPin has this and it makes prototyping so much faster.
What do you think of this feature; allowing Figma users to import table data from Excel sheet and present the table on canvas, styled as specified by the user before importing the data. I specify my number of Col, row to match the what’s on the excel sheet and I browse to file and click Import. Please can we have the feature on next update please.
There are two basic conventions for writing design tokens: action.color.primary action-color-primary I would like an option with ‘.’ for consistency with our design token naming convention but this character is not supported.
As in CSS, a Child with an absolute position relates its position to the first Parent with a relative position. This could be possible when setting overlays in Prototype if you add a few options in Prototype mode: Set as relative - option available for the element selected, same as “Scroll behaviour” shows when selecting an element; Listen to the first relative parent - option available for any overlay and when that is enabled the overlay positions itself to the first relative parent instead of the element that is used to trigger it. This should not break existing prototypes.
My team create slides with Figma today, it becomes a trouble when export that we have to use plug-ins. We hope slide functions can be noticed, like playing fullscreen on the pc. All our best wishes to Figma, thanks.
We as a team have been using FigJam for our ideation, inspiration boards, etc… similar to a Miro as you’d expect. Our team adds many screenshots (images), but multiple people in our team have brought up that with the white background of the FigJam canvas and screenshots often having white as a common background color its hard to quickly scan through images as their edges bleed into the background canvas. I’m not sure if its just our team that has found this, but the suggestion to have a stroke/outline option for images has come up, but I don’t see a way to currently do that.
I’m searching a query in Figma Community, let’s say “free icons”. Then, I scroll down to get more results. Now, I write another query to the search bar and, when I hit enter to search, the updated results are shown but the scroll position is the same, so I have to manually go up to the first results because I have a filter of “Relevancy”, so I want to see the top results first. And that becomes an obstacle for me when I’m at the very bottom of the page of my previous query.
There should be a way to more easily support prototyping an interaction where only one item in a group can be active — such as radio groups, accordion panels, or even simple navigation bars. Right now each of the items in the group need a boolean variable, and when one is clicked that item needs to be set as True and all of the other items need to be individually set to False. This is approach is manageable with a group of 3 items, but its a pain in the ass for anything over 5. Ideally, if I set one item in the Boolean Group to True, it would then set all of the other instances to False. Just like an html Radio group works.
Would love to see an item count somewhere in FigJam when multi-selecting a large group of items on the board. Would also apply to small groups of items, but an item count that tells me how many things are selected would be lovely. Thank you!
With Auto Layout, much of our designs are already responsive. Let the prototype windows be resizable like a browser. Could even offer breakpoints to switch to different component variants. I know there’s workarounds and best practices, but I’m saying it’d be best to support this behavior natively, instead of forcing people to do silly workarounds. “Best practices” needing to exist simply means that you missed the ball on building an opinionated and correct tool. <3
Can we have an function to add variables in the text style? For the reason that we mockup the design with the series of medium font, while our manager wants to see the other versions with small font and large font. So, we can switch the version like the new page mode feature. 🐱
With the launch of the 'Ready for dev" flag on Sections, I want the ability to the same flag on a component directly.
Idea: 💡 Temporarily reduce or remove a user’s visibility of a file. Where it came from: I love being able to create, share and collaborate with my team on Figma but sometimes, I want to show early iteration ideas then go back into my creative bubble with no one watching what size line I draw, what font I chose etc during the iteration stage when my creative brain is exploding with various things to try likewise I have witness some users open a file and don’t contribute but because their avatar is present it looks as though they are active, I’ve also found sometimes users aren’t contributing they are simply watching, it can feel incredibly intimidating, is there a feature to temporary remove a user either by choice or after a time out if they haven’t contributed to any design.
Add a Delete option like recycle bin in ‘Recent Files’ in any bottom corner. Which can be used by just dragging unnecessary projects to the delete icon/option. This will help us to manage our projects or extra files in a more easy manner.
I want to use an expression to set the width of an object so it matches the width of another object. I imagine it to work like this: In the width property: = width of [layer] The concrete use case looks as such: For a library component in its loading state, the text is replaced with a skeleton (an animated gradient). Auto-layout doesn’t allow me to keep the width of the default state - that is determined by the text layer (hug) – when switching to the loading variant.
Prototyping connnectors can really quickly go on top of other designs and get all over the place. Letting us edit the path of the connectors with handles (in a similar way to FigJam) would make it much much easier to prototype.
It would be really cool if there is a divider for the pages, instead of making a new page and naming it “—” to be able to categorize them or like the one you do for the variable collections. <3
