When I set a corner radius on a top level layer, that radius should also change any nested layers. For example, my team has components for Table Header Cell and Table Row Cell. I put those components into layers for each row and then in another layer for the table itself. I put a 2px corner radius on the table layer but still have to add a 2px radius to the top two corners of the table header row and also a 2px radius to the top left corner of the first table header cell, etc.

It would be handy to see the usage dates on the admin teams table across the organization, such as last modified, last viewed, etc. To find and clean up miscellaneous teams that are spin-up. And move files into the appropriate teams that will manage care and feeding.

If I have a component with a variant whose width is set to fill in the master container and an instance of that variant also set to fill but whose container is a different width than the master container this should not count as a size override on the instance. It means if I then want to change the height of the master variant, it will never take effect until I switch the instance to fixed width and reset the size. “Fill” should count as its own size independent of any particular nominal width resulting from fill. Failing this or in addition to it, width and height should be considered separate overrides.

Hey all, Suggesting a new feature so that I can have a menu item for cropping the imported item. I know it is in the command+/ shortcut and then you can type it… or otherwise you can double click and then edit the properties there. But if it was in the menu bar when I’m using my desktop app, then I could just tag a shortcut through the system preferences on my Mac. So please if you are reading this Figma engineers, a noob like me would love a feature like this. Thanks for reading.

It would be really great to be able to define a new variable that use another variable AND an other color on top. The main usecase for me is to be able to have for example : Variable A : My primary color New Variable B : My primary color + a dark overlay ( 000, 3% ) which is the “Hover effect” for example This way I can change my primary color ( Variable A ) and have all the others colors ( hover, active, disabled … ) which update instantly without having to set every color individually.

picture a FigJam with a software flow made by a design team… its accessed by someone on the dev team. That person can only slightly interact with design team’s layer, and can adjust it’s opacity. Then they do their own stuff over top of the design stuff to start to outline their process in direct reference to the flows. Each team can see (or not see) each others stuff.

The ‘grabber’ icon to reorder variants is only visible when you hover the mouse on the very left edge of the variant name which took me a while to find. Strongly suggest that this icon be made always visible for all variant names in the list.

Feedback to the Figma team - The interaction for setting a password is not very user-friendly. It’s so easy to miss the ‘Set’ button when setting up the password, as this isn’t how the other interactions in the ‘Share Prototype’ settings work. It took me a while to work out that just selecting access for ‘Anyone with the link and password’ wouldn’t automatically apply this function. It disrupted my user testing when I realised I hadn’t completed the set up. Very stressful to try to work this out mid-test.

It would be great if while in “Crop Mode”, you could enter the width and height crop value, rather than manually dragging the crop box to the desired size.

The screenshot should speak for itself. Please please pleeeease make these boxes a tad bigger, or animate the text to slide to the side, or a simple hover on the name reveals the full name of the variant. Thanks!

Sometimes we forget the file and the page on which something is created in the past… so we can give an image slider where we can see snapshots of all the pages… Currently only option for us is to open the file and check all the pages one by one… with this update that problem can be solved atleast to some degree… here’s the prototype - Figma – 27 Jul 23

I lost an image or a textbox multiple times when exporting my Figma to PDF files because I didn’t know whether they were in the frame or not.

A File Manager is necessary to organise Design and FigJam files. Where a user should be able to create a folder, name it and add files accordingly.

Formulas & Variables: In ProtoPie, We can set and use variables, and apply logical formulas, allowing creation of more dynamic and data-driven prototypes. Chain Interactions: One of ProtoPie’s standout capabilities is the ability to create complex sequences of chained interactions. For example, a single trigger like a button tap can initiate an animation that, upon completion, seamlessly transitions to another interaction. Conditional Logic: with protoPie, we can set up very complex conditions for interactions. For instance, a button might behave differently based on the value of a variable or the state of another object.This is especially helpful for advanced scenarios like drag-and-drop interactions or detailed canvas interaction. Hi Everyone. There was already a topic about the fact that in Figma, when a style is used (color style for a fill, a stroke or a drop shadow even), it is not possible to quickly toggle the visibility anymore since the eve icon disappears and is replace by another icon (cf. GIF below). Here is the topic: Ability to toggle visibility of applied Style without removing it ❗I opened this new one because it also does not work when a color variable is applied. I think both options should be considered then. This limitation is a bit frustrating. I would like to request a new feature that allows users to easily toggle the visibility of these styles and color variables. This feature would provide better control and flexibility in designing, making it more efficient and user-friendly. Please vote so Figma can consider implementing this feature to improve the overall Figma experience for designers 🙂

When working alone on a FigJam, there should be a hand icon in to top right of the screen where if you’re done with something and start waving, you can just high-five that icon to celebrate and get some supportive feedback 😅

I notice the way you view comments has changed to just a side panel. My team loved the way it was before when you can see where the exact bullet was on the slide. Right now it’s just a vague general area where the comment si 😦

In dev mode it would useful to see the text style applied to text when hovering over a text element, instead of just the ‘T’.

Be able to set a component prop, with a conditional rule, based on a variable. For example, have a variable called category which is either going to have a value of “metal” or “house”. Then for my component, I want a conditional rule such as IF category == "metal" then property == "foo". Also accept ELSE, IF ELSE statements.

Many times, objects are in the right position but are outside the frame. A command to select everything and add them inside the frame would be perfect. We already have CMD / options that allow us to select similar objects and make bulk changes or find all instance in large files. Lets add variables to that list. Learning variables is a lot of trail and error, it will make this initial process much less frustrating if we can mess up and fix it quickly.

A beautifully simple feature would be to automatically copy the share link to clip board when you open the share panel (be it in design or dev mode copy the appropriate link). The collective time saved pulling out links to add to Slack, documentation, Trello, Notion etc would be amazing.

My computer is controlled remotely by our tech support team. I am sure this is not uncommon. I have to submit a ticket and tech support comes into my computer to enter the admin creds to allow for helper tool updating for Figma. Problem is, I usually dismiss the popup modal so I can work without that being in the way. Sometimes is takes a day for tech support to respond. When they do log into my computer, they go to the desktop app Figma settings dropdown in the top left corner. They click to “check for updates” and nothing happens. I just found out that they have to go to Figma.com and download the newest update for Figma - have it replace my current version and then FINALLY the “Figma needs to add a helper tool” modal pops up where they need to enter their creds. The bug is that the Figma desktop app should show updates and a way to update the helper tool via the settings dropdown in the top left. Currently, we end up rage clicking it. Bugs
