Let us know what would make Figma better for you.

I feel that Figma’s Homepage can use some love! Starting with a ‘Search’ I cannot search my Figma files - much needed! I sometimes loose time in trying to find the right file because I often juggle a few tasks at the same time. The star & pinned are nice but I still loose time making sure it is the right file. Also, the card view preview doesn’t update properly which doesn’t help in my search. Maybe more zoom options in the Card View. But a ‘Search’ would be the most helpful to start with!
It would be nice to have the ability to resize elements using integers since decimal points are not ideal for web development. For example, using the command + shift + mouse drag combination to resize by integer values, instead of just shift + mouse drag.
Right now, I’m working on a plugin that needs to reset some of the styles on an instance so that they match its mainComponent. Through the UI, we have the option to “reset all overrides”, as well as resetting fills, strokes, etc. However, I don’t see that option in the Plugin API. It would be really helpful if we could add this so that we had a more fine-grained way of resetting instances that matched what the Figma UI is doing!
Much like sketch, sometimes I just don’t want anything to happen when resizing a Frame/art board. Usually this is a length issue and I just want to drag it down. Sometimes the user doesn’t want to assign full responsiveness/layout to components/objects at the start. Not having this can also be harmful to beginners who also have to go figure out all of auto layout/responsiveness. They don’t have the option to work/start without it. This “adjust content on resize” functionality can be turned off in sketch, Just looking for the same. It’s also a massive PITA, to go back have to check every object for size/resize because you didn’t even notice/forgot that you resized a few pixels, and now everything is off by 4.6 pixels for example. The default behaviour should be OFF, as typically users will setup a page/component before getting into responsive/interaction. This way, there’s no accidental sizing issues as mentioned above. This happens in sketch still, because they have resizing ON as the
Hi Figma team, It would be great if we can write description before merging branch to the main file. This is useful to keep track what’s new, what’s changed in the branch. Thanks!
Please add an additional function to Comments that notifies the author of the comment that their feedback or change is ready to be REVIEWED. There is ALWAYS a review step within our workflow. Never is it assumed that the designer has interpreted and executed the feedback or change in the correct way. By only having the “Resolved” function, it misses this critical review step, not to mention the Resolved function deletes the original comment with no way see what was originally asked for.
Place the texts in a more systematic way.
I’d love to use the pencil in Figma files with the Apple pencil in the iPad app, similar to what you can do in FigJam files. I don’t necessarily need full edit access on the iPad, just the ability to scribble some notes and sketch diagrams next to my designs without having to move them over to FigJam first.
Sometimes Figma takes too much loading time… Please make it more lite and fast.
Would be nice to have a Feature, to show if a Component/Variant is currently in Use in any File or not. Would be a massive Help to cleanup unused Components from a Library.
It is a nice feature that I can lock / Unlock or hide / unhide Screen by hover any screen name on side bar. but For now this feature overlap screen name so it not visible properly. instead we can add a background under Lock or hide so that user can see them properly.
SSO should be a built-in feature for any SaaS provider, and should be considered a security minimum. By locking SSO behind a paywall, you’re telling customers you only care about their security if they’re willing to pay extra. In 2024 SSO should be a security baseline and an offering at any tier. I sincerely hope Figma considers reworking their plans in the future.
When I’m using multi-edit variants, I’d like feedback (e.g. snackbar at the bottom) showing how many elements were selected. Sometimes I’m worried that there are selected elements that I didn’t intend to modify, so I have to zoom out and do a quick scan to see if anything else was selected. For large files, it’s hard to tell what’s selected and what’s not.
Ever since the properties have ben added to components, it has been a great improvement in my workflow. Especially the fact that I can select multiple instances and change a propery for all of them in just one go. Hallelujah! However when I’m using the “expose properties from nested instances”, the nested properties are shown when selecting 1 instances, but when I select multiple, they disappear.
Can we please optimize this? Or at least make them all work with Shift + Click? (Just noticed I forgot color variables) Thanks, team! You’re awesome, hope you can find a solution.
It would be awesome if sections didn’t act like frames, but more like a hybrid of a group and a frame, with the ability to grow with their child contents. It’s v annoying to have to keep resizing them, when they’re really just best for a visual or prototype container. I know they get bigger if you cmd+d duplicate a child node, but it would be great if it was always a thing. Not autolayout, just like a group with some padding.
Hello I use Figma for my print tasks, because InDesign is just horrible to use. And sometimes I have to use more big sizes. I would like we have: A0 A1 A2 A3 in adition of A4 A5 A6 Thank you !
I noticed that Truncate Text has two options… None Truncate at end of line Could you add Truncate Middle/Center of a text style… that would be amazing.
Can we have option to link layers? so that we can resize those layers together
I would love to see an option for browsers frame in prototype device (like chrome, FireFox, etc…). The browser frame size can be modified to a specific size, this option can be added to “Custom Size” with a drop down to choose the desired browser.
Hi Figma, Probably been shared before, but I would really love it if the aspect ratio lock that you already have would also work in auto layout. It is a lot of work to have to go and resize everything manually.
My drawing contains pixel images. When I export it as a PDF the quality of the pixel images is compromised by lossy compression. I can’t find where to switch off the lossy compression that appears to be on by default when exporting to PDF.
“Shift + D” is very easy to press and similiar to other high-prioirty keyboard shortcut (“Shift+[Character]” in context of Figma’s shortcut scheme, yet switching back and forth between Dev Mode and Design Mode doesn’t necessarily need such quick or frequent access, comparatively. Furthermore, Figma’s keyboard shortcut cannot be overidden because the key binding is simply “Shift + [Character]”, which is disallowed as a keyboard shortcut under the MacOS system. It’s too easy to hit inadvertently and becomes a workflow distraction cost unequal to its benefit.
Cuando quiero cambiar la búsqueda, me costó como 6 segundos encontrar el componente. LoviU ✨ PD: And when I wanted to attach the image here, I think that upload icon is not associated with a text editor.
Leverage variables or even some kind of AI to provide a UI element that allows to tick a box like “Generate Dark Mode for All Screens” and of course let them be modifiable once generated.
