build dashboards almost always ends up with designing tables ,Tables are really tricky in figma you can build atoms but once you want to build rows or columns you have a problem , Columns based organism - allows to add more columns on the fly but fails in prototyping Row based organism - allows creating row components and interactions but fails when wanting to add more columns that is why i suggest building a Table Grid - this will allow users to create both row interactions and add columns - so adding another header updates all the grid .a table grid can also have presets for data types , changing from left to right based on type and numbers .this could greatly improve efficiency in Figma .
I was genuinely excited about this new feature, not just because it helps reduce the double dipping on seat pricing, but because it seemed like a much simpler way to collaborate with external teams and clients who have their own Figma accounts.Unfortunately, the current limitations around the very minimal number of connections make it feel fairly useless, especially for a small agency like ours that work with multiple different teams every day. I had hoped this would be similar to Slack’s connection feature.More importantly, the feature still feels underdeveloped. Our team typically sets up two folders per client: 1 internal for exploration and iteration, and 1 external for sharing polished work. We were hoping the connected projects feature could replace our external folder and streamline collaboration. But when we tested it by adding a completed website and design system to a connected project for the client’s team to use, we quickly ran into an issue. Our team couldn’t access the de
Most of the time when I use the shortcut (Ctrl + A), my hand accidentally hits the Q key on the keyboard, causing Figma to close suddenly without any warning or alert.I suggest:Changing the shortcut from (Ctrl + Q) to (Ctrl + Shift + Q).
The changes made to the transparency in the seat approval settings are very welcome.Without the 'Manual approve seat if available' and 'What is included' options, I paid for unintended seats several times in the past. This makes controlling costs much easier. Thank you for listening to the feedback.
I always want to create an IA before designing, but its such a chore. I end up using a bulleted list (with indents to show hierarchy). I want to be able to copy-paste my list into FigJam and have it automatically generate an IA for me
Why don’t Figma developers just keep community link in the top tabs?
Could you please add a new method that returns a Promise?setValueForModeAsync(modeId: string, newValue: VariableValue): Promise<void>I’m working with hundreds of variables applied across complex layers in my plugin, so applying changes can take some time, and the next modification in the queue might already be out of date when it finishes. Being able to await each change would ensure they finish before the next step. Thanks for considering!
hi please add " add and remove nodes in curve hansdrawes"i have a lot problems with the edit object part
We create a lot of mocks using Figma. These mocks may contain a lot of UI elements that require labels/tooltips. If Figma can automatically suggest labels/tooltips using AI it would be great.
Usability problem. Could we get rid of the 'Show more properties' button and show properties always open, please? It's very annoying to have to click it open every time. Or provide user preferences.
Usability problem. Could the 'State' section be set to be open by default, please? It's vey annoying to have to click it open every time. Or provide user preferences.
Hello, I'm a designer using Figma for over 6 years. These days I'm writing codes as wellI want have a function of Auto Layout. In Swift coding, we got HStack, VStack, ZStack and GridSometime I want to create a button with a background which can Scale with the sizes of button. If I filled to the top - Layout of the button it’s done. but sometime I want it can be hided as a switch in component properties, It;s hard to do so.Also in some Popup design, I want to add something like exit icons which is not followed the whole frame, the only way I could do this is to make it position absolute. So my idea and suggest about auto layout is that. If I could have a function like ZStack. It can helps the element inside Fill container and also, it can have the Layers for different parts. It’s a little bit hard to describe but thank you for your reading
Our design system in Figma often involves iterative refinement, leading to the identification of redundant variables (colors, etc.). These unnecessary variables are often duplicates of existing ones, linked to the same foundational variable library. To improve the organization and maintainability of our design system, we require a more efficient way to remove these redundant variables.Currently, deleting a variable that is in use by multiple objects and elements within our designs is a cumbersome and potentially error-prone process. We propose a new feature: when a user attempts to delete a variable, Figma should present a prompt asking which existing variable they would like to substitute for the one being deleted. This functionality would allow designers to seamlessly replace the usage of the obsolete variable with a chosen, equivalent variable across all instances where it is currently applied. This would significantly streamline the process of cleaning up our variable library, ensur
Limiting Design system theming and APIs to Enterprise creates a huge hurdle for someone who may be a solo-preneur and wants to develop for mobile, web, and IoT. This would be a game changer for automated pipelines.
Similar to how we have dev mode, design mode, and now draw mode in Figma Design, can we get separate modes for prototypes? DesignersCreate the prototypes Need to see hotspots on click Share internally to PM and Eng EngineersWant a more guided experience, there to see the interaction and flows without much self-discovery Perhaps a Split View of dev mode designs and prototype side-by-side ResearchersShare prototypes externally Limited extra UI, design-only. Less for participants to get distracted Sharing options such as password, expiring links, share specific flow links No hotspots A lot of this is available today, albeit not in different modes. Which leads to designers having to walk eng and researchers how to find and use these features. Different modes tailored to each user could help us have more of a self-service UI.
The new auto layout design seems unintuitive now that gap and alignment placement has been switched (alignment left, gap right). We would be far more likely to ‘set and forget’ the alignment, but often do tinker with spacing and gaps in auto layout. Every time I intuitively reach to edit gap in auto layout, I have to scan and mouse over alignment, something that just doesn't need to be in the way. Gap and alignment should be swapped back to what it was (alignment right, gap left). Anyone else experiencing this friction?Otherwise, this auto layout update is a wonderful and welcome change!
Currently, the "All Projects" section in Figma loads an infinite list, making it hard to navigate or locate older projects—especially when working in large teams or organizations with hundreds of files.Adding pagination (or even better, filters/sorting and a jump-to-page option) would greatly improve usability and performance, allowing users to access and manage their projects more efficiently.Has anyone else run into this issue or found a workaround?
Hey,I think it would be a good idea if we could use the pattern fill and subtract it from other shapes. It is very much needed for illustrations.Optionally flattening them to vector shapes and the subtracting would be okay, but not great.preferred would be that only the dots are subtracted
For accessibility, it would be incredibly helpful to have an out-of-the-box alt text property for all images. This would help reduce the load on dev/design teams and allow us to build consistency into our image descriptions.
Use case: I add screenshots. I want to annotate + caption them for the team to have additional context of what they are looking at (or any other info i want to share) I dont want to additionaly grab the text tool/a sticky/comment. I want to have the text be in view. BONUS!!! if i could decide where i want to position my text label (either top/bottom: left, centre, right)
Continuing the discussion from Copy / Paste prototype interactions?: Can this particular feature also work with complex interactions, ones that have variables or conditionals in them? Another suggestion to include here is to also probably improve on the visibility that you can copy and paste interactions from the Prototyping tab. Right now I have this particular interaction where I’m resetting a bunch of variables to their values, and I need to have that same interaction with another button in an instance. I was hoping I could just do a similar way of Copy and pasting properties but for prototype interactions as well. As an aside: I tried the suggested action from the previous Forum post I linked, but it doesn’t seem to work for me. Maybe it doesn’t work if I’m trying to add interactions in component instances (nested or otherwise)?
When working in design systems, often you have layers of sub-components with chained properties. In these common cases, you want to make sure to only modify the top-level property so that it updates the rest, or you get confllicts. A simple [✔] can edit would fix that by preventing the lower-level instances of the sub-component from being edited in an instance of the component.
When I put comment on an item into a grid, I would like it to be attached to this element so it follows it when I resize de grid frame.
[Config 2025] I can't align an element to another in a grid while it is possible with an item in auto-layout.
Is it possible to use local fonts (or any fonts not available on Google Fonts) with Figma Sites? Is there a way to link a .woff file or reference a custom font in any other way? Thanks!
