I have a bulleted list in my Figma file and tried to copy into Monday.com but the formatting isn’t pasting in.

It comes

out on

one level

but at the right

line breaks

  • Instead of
  • Coming out
  • like this
  • bulleted list

So far my only fix is to re-bullet my list in Monday, or just make my lists in another place. I’ve already tried pasting into Word and using cmd+shift+c and cmd+option+c, nothing works. :(

Please please please add a way to copy and keep the formatting.

Hi @Katie_Hornsby, thanks for reaching out!

Since this formatting issue occurs in monday.com, it’ll be best to reach out directly to their support team at support@monday.com. Their team will be better suited to see what may be occurring on the backend of their product that is causing the removal of the bullet points as well as suggest a solution or possible workaround.

@dvaliao It’s not just Monday.com, pasting the bulleted list into Word does the same thing. Copy/pasting a bulleted list from Word to Monday works. I did reach out to Monday.com support, they say the text formatting is not supported. Is there a setting on Figma that can help with this?

I would otherwise have to keep notes in a separate document and separated from my Figma file. I have to be able to copy/paste this text out.

Hi @Katie_Hornsby, thanks for clarifying and apologies for the delayed reply!

The team confirmed that this is currently expected, but good news - they already have something in the works to ensure this works as expected. Stay tuned!

We have this same issue copy and pasting into word/outlook, same with ai llm tools. Please fix!

@djv

The problem also occurs when translating texts within Figma.

Steps to reproduce:
Translate a text with bullet points with Figma AI

Expected outcome:
Translated text has bullet points

Actual outcome:
The pullet point structure is gone after translation
