I’m trying to recreate the structure of our Text Field web component with slots. I would prefer the Figma slots to behave similar to the <slot> element in that they wouldn’t reserve space until there is content in them.Currently I can work around this by adding a boolean property that controls visibility of each slot but this adds clutter to the property controls.In the properties panel slot contents are described as “Default” or “Modified”. Having a third state “Empty” that also hides the slot from Auto Layout would solve both for me. 

Is it possible to obtain a free subscription to the Professional package for non-profit organizations, and what evidence is required for this? Thank you for your response!

I started to try using agents to help find some holes in the my designn system but I asked it to make a simple one variable change and it disconnected everything variable in my whol design system. Losing hours and work. It could not fix the problem. I will not be using figma agents again. Has this happened to anyone else??

Figma can generate UI from a prompt, ship a website, and animate half a marketing site before lunch. It still cannot lock a ruler guide.That is not a niche request. That is table stakes. My team has encountered some issues working with non-designers that would be really helpful to fix if Slides and Buzz had a few more features they could access. Listing below the features that I think should exist in both Design mode and Slides/Buzz mode: Layers Panel Our users have trouble navigating auto layouts we create, especially when there are multiple nested within each other or within a group. Having access to the layers panel to select, remove, duplicate or lock/unlock objects would be really helpful for them If there was a way for designers to lock objects with certain permissions (i.e. can change the text but can’t change the X,Y positions, can move the object but can’t resize it, can unlock some objects but not others), that would help us maintain design control while still providing flexibility for non-designers Position/Layout Settings Users in Slides/Buzz mode don’t have a way to manually set Width, Height or Rotation controls. Figma newbie here, Say I’m designing an iPhone app, and I know that with my specific display, around 80% zoom level in Figma is the right size compared to the physical size of the phone. While working, I’ll zoom in and out without much care for exactness, but every now and then I’d like to jump to the precise value of 80% zoom to check the text sizes and whatnot. The only way I know of doing this is clicking the zoom input in the top-right corner, typing in 80 and then Return. Not exactly terrible, but still annoying if repeated dozens or hundreds of times a day. Is there a way to create a shortcut for custom zoom levels? If not, any other alternatives?

Currently, in Figma, smart animate only works on opacity, color fill, stroke, position, width&height. The options at your disposal when making an interactive prototype are pretty limited. It would come in handy if Figma can expand the supported animatable properties to include: Radius, Effects (shadow spread), VectorNetwork, Polygon Ratio, Ellipse Sweep, Dash, etc.

Hi,I’ve seen this topic mentioned before, but I’d like to propose a more specific feature request for slide layers.It would be very helpful to have selected auto layout options available directly on the slide layer itself, not only within frames placed on top of it. Since slides need to maintain consistent dimensions across the entire presentation, options like “Hug contents” likely wouldn’t apply here and could be excluded.However, enabling flow direction (vertical or horizontal) and potentially grid layout at the slide level would significantly improve layout flexibility. It would allow designers to structure content directly on the slide, without the need to introduce an additional frame solely to activate auto layout across the full slide area.This would streamline workflows and reduce unnecessary nesting, especially for simpler slide compositions.Thanks!  

Hello, it would be nice to have the option to insert floating components inside text (like Emojis). Use case would be for signs or infos in complex dashboards. Its a hustle to do this now manually and also set kind of boundingboxes to sync different heighs of text and component. Regards

I want to make a prototype where something changes when user scrolls content. I want to keyboard collapse when user starts scrolling content, but it’s impossible to do with drag action. Or it feels unnatural Or am I missing a way to do it with existing tools?

I've been really enjoying the new Motion features in Figma. The experience feels intuitive, and creating animations has become much faster and more enjoyable. Even in its current state, Motion shows a lot of potential, and I'm excited to see how it evolves.While testing, I came across a few areas that could significantly improve the workflow: Nested Layers in the Timeline When working with nested layers, child layers currently appear individually in the timeline alongside their parent layer. This can make the timeline cluttered and difficult to manage. It would be helpful if the timeline supported nesting similar to the Layers panel, with expandable and collapsible groups. Dedicated Clipping Mask Workflow Motion currently lacks dedicated clipping mask support. A masking workflow similar to After Effects would make it much easier to create and animate reveals, transitions, and other advanced motion effects without relying on workarounds. I love using FigJam connectors in Figma to layout flows. They make diagram manipulation easy to iterate and refine. The drawback is that once I’ve completed a flow, I can’t create a master component and then the instances I need to present in multiple contexts. The FigJam connectors don’t want to nest inside of a frame, and as a result, my instances have no connector lines. Additionally, the only way I can share the completed diagram outside of Figma (.png or .pdf) is by making a screen cap, because the export function won’t capture the FigJam connectors either. So one of my steps once diagram is almost final is to replace the FigJam connectors with Figma lines/connectors that will componetize. It’s not so fun. It would be nice if those FigJam connectors could componetize along other elements in a frame. There must be something technically preventing this, but it would be a good enhancement, IMO.

I’ve been using connectors in Figma Design (via a simple ‘hack’ of copy pasting them from a FigJam document), and they are supported as connectors, they behave as expected (anchoring on groups, frames, layers, etc), but they’re quite buggy (they seem to be always outside any grouping, and when copy pasting them they can end up all broken up and weird places in the canvas). So my request is simple: fully support connectors in Figma Design, they’re useful for linking flows, annotations, etc. Figma team: make this happen quick please, don’t hit the brakes now.

Can we add a shortcut in Figma to add connectors? Having to copy/paste connectors from FigJam is definitely not a good experience (And they already work well in Figma so the effort is pretty small) Connectors are one of the most important supporting elements to create flows for designers.

Mapping out flows as part of UX design is critical. There are plugins for this, and we can copy shapes and connector lines from FigJam into Figma… but they can be much more accessible than they are today. In current state, I need to open a FigJam file every time I design so I can copy stickies, shapes, and connector lines into my Figma file for annotation and user flow mapping. It would be great to just have this toolbar directly accessible in Figma files, too!

When creating hand-off documents I like to showcase user flows by using arrows between different UI elements. I have to use plugins to create these arrows at the moment. When playing with Figjam I notice it had a connector option - this is great. I would love it if we could also have this connector option inside Figma as it would be a HUGE timesaver for hand-off. I would like to think this would be a super easy update given that we can already edit connectors inside Figma. We just need a connector button in the toolbar like so:

Currently, if you copy + paste a figjam flow into a Design file, the Connector Lines stay fully functional – they stretch and adapt as you move their origins and destinations around the canvas, and you can move their origins and destinations to your frames, components, etc. I’ve been using this to show user flows within my UI designs, not only for ease of sharing with other teammates (no need to give in-depth walkthroughs), but also for easily identifying missing states within a flow. It would be great if a) the Connector Line was added as a tool to Figma Design, or b) basic lines and pen vectors had the option to act as connector lines – attaching to anchor points on objects and components, scaling when the endpoints were moved, and able to be adjusted with mid-line handles.

Everything is already mentioned in the title 🙂.These may already be planned features, but having the ability to animate changes in size and weight using variable fonts would be a real must-have for Figma motion. I’d also love to see support for SVG morphing animations, allowing users to animate the transformation of an SVG’s shape by editing and animating its anchor points and handles.

Our workflow is to decline all license requests that users make in the app.We require all users to create a ticket in Service-now and after getting approval from the appropriate Finance Director to manually approve the appropriate license (Full, Dev or Collab).I’m requesting a way to set all license requests to “decline” and tailor the email response to detail how to open a ticket for the license request.

Not sure if we like the current placement of the new Agent features. It sits right over active screen elements while working, so the chances of accidentally clicking it are super high and pretty annoying.

I think Figma should let users customize the color of a strikethrough independently, rather than automatically matching the color of the text. This would give designers more control over how the strikethrough is visually presented.

Hi there.I create a new thread because this one is closed: Like many, I do my resumé with Figma. And I’ve seen that the text exported PDFs have undesirable spaces inside the words.Example:Copy/paste this text and you get:“with 2 0 + years of e xperience”, which is wrong!! Of course, the MKitFPDF plug-in solves some problems but brings some others, without to say it’s not free.Did someone got a real fix for this?
