Recently I unpleasantly discovered that anyone with view access to my file could duplicate it to their drafts. When trying to prevent this privacy and intellectual property leak, I discovered a way to block this by adjusting my sharing settings and unchecking the option:However, soon after my developers realised that they could now not export icons. It seems like a way to control the posibility to fully copy a design file should be independent from the capability from exporting content to non-editable formats. Unfortunately, I cannot find a way to do so. I currently have to choose what to jeaopardize, our design's intellectual property or developers work. Please let me know how to keep my designs files safe from duplication without impacting production. Thank you.
I use figma for a lot of subtracting and a bit more complex workflows, i would love to use figma’s tool more but working with pages that lag each time i make a change, cause of figma using only a few gb of RAM (I have 32) and only a single core is really annoying. Currently i use figma to design for game interfaces games and changing softwares is really not an options for me so adding this would definitely help a lot.
So the conclusion of today's update is that it is not easy to use and is prone to component explosion. It is only used in specific scenarios and is not as comfortable as using large components and instances. If we add slot content for switching in the future, there may be many gameplay options. Moreover, it is interesting to convert slots into components without using them. However, the problem now is that if I create a slot, about 3-5 components will be generated, which will explode later on
Hi Team,Super excited about slots. I was at the Figma Sydney event yesterday, loved hearing Zoe talk about the process. I’ve been trialling it out today. I notice that we have started putting slots into some of our DS components, particularly helpful for the the input field component, which is roughly 44 px high.I notice that if I have an instance of an input field into my design and try and use the slot in the leading icon spot, if my browser or window is zoomed out too far, I notice that the pink ring shows up but the tiny plus in the middle to add the component. I have to zoom in in order to see the plus icon and then interact with slots, because I notice that the area around or the pink field itself is not directly interactable. Loving it otherwise!
I have created some slots for columns in my table component and I cannot duplicate them from the parent component instance. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. To solve this, I have to add a duplicate using the + button, and then they can be duplicated without any problems.
Hello Figma team,I'd like to request the addition of spell checking support for the same languages that are already available in Figma's UI language settings.Currently, Figma only offers spell checking for English, which creates challenges for designers working in other languages. When creating designs with Portuguese content (or any other language), I don't get any spelling error indicators, making it easy to miss typos and grammatical mistakes.Interestingly, Figma already supports these languages for the UI/interface translation:• Japanese (日本語)• French (Français)• German (Deutsch)• Spanish - Spain (Español España)• Spanish - Latin America (Español Latinoamérica)• Korean (한국어)• Portuguese - Brazil (Português do Brasil)Since these languages are already integrated into Figma's interface, it would make sense to extend this language support to include spell checking in the text editor as well. This would create a more consistent and complete multilingual experience. This would be incredib
Comments should be available in the hand tool mode.I don’t want to accidentally modify something so I use the hand tool (also to move through the pictures), but it’s frustrating that I need to switch to the selection tool in order to view and add comments.
I started using Figma Make for a project and the UX was super nice. Easy to switch pages in my react application. Now, the drop down selection button is gone and makes it very hard to navigate between pages especially when its not all connected yet. It was also nice visual to see holistically all the pages you created and can toggle back and forth and from a preview url you generated to within your app.
Here’s an idea. When I open the variables modal window, it’s wide enough to show the little icon to assign another variable to my new variable. I literally, every - single - time - have to widen the modal window by just say 40 pixels maybe, to just be able to click the little hexagon control in the Variables’ value column. Has no one designing this tool ever assigned a variable before? And no, before you say “open it full screen” - I will never use the variables page in full screen unless I’m fully designing an entire token system with multiple modes… I just need to open the modal, assign a static variable to my dynamic variable and I have to move my mouse to the 3px wide spot to grab the window edge and move it just like - no kidding - 10 or 20 px… it’s pretty ridiculous PLEASE SOMEONE FROM FIGMA SEE THIS AND HELP. While on the topic of modal windows… why is the interactions modal designed in one way when it’s just action, but then it rearranges itself into a whole other setup when yo
I had a page “Components” to manage all my local components. There are some new updates in the main file that require me to resolve the conflicts. When updating, it allows me to choose only Main or Branch for ALL COMPONENTS. But some components I need to update from the main file, some I need the current changes in the branch.
Currently when you’re trying to select variables as an alias, you don’t get any indication of what the ‘value’ actually is. However if you were to head over to your designs/components, and began adding the same variable to the component, the ‘value’ is presented. Which makes it difficult to understand when making updates to variable aliases. In my mind these are using the same dropdown component, so confuses me that they don’t offer the same functionality across different areas of the app. See examples below. Is this something that could be added to the variable modal context? Is there any reasons why it wouldn’t have been added? Variable modal dropdown.Right panel dropdown
I personally abuse figma heavily, while I do use it also to create very rough designs for webapps that I build custom for our business. I mainly use it as a personal todo system. everything I ever do gets a small frame in figma where I collect knowledge I need to execute the small project. Now my question/idea is that figma can be used for so much more than design. For example I would love to have AI browse the web through hundreds of different sites and collect me vast amounts of information. And then I would love to have AI put that all into little text boxes in Figma. So I have a vast graph of information.I know figjam already kind of allows this but it’s a fraction of what I have in mind.I want vast agent networks to do extreme reasearch for me. And then on the graph I want to be able to say “lets continout to do research at this node of the graph” and then it would essentially allow me to brainstorm in various directions. For example I would use this to search through subreddits o
Currently the only way I see to spell check in figma Slides is to click in each text box for it to check the spelling. Is there a way without a plugin that will spell check the entire slides presetation?
Cmd+alt+up/down recently started to rotate object instead of moving the layer up down. How to fix/disable it?
We are currently using Figma Make to make prototypes during product discovery stage, but Make being available only on Full seat prevents product managers, who are on Collab seats, using it. We don’t want to give full access to product managers just to make small edits, and Collab seat have already a set amount of AI credits. Why can’t Collab seats can’t make edits on Make prototypes?
This problem is frustrating me every time I try to open a project folder. If a project folder has less than 4 files in it, it’s very often easy to click the blue plus sign that appears which creates a new blank file, when in reality I’m just trying to open the project folder. I end up unnecessarily wasting time creating and deleting empty files.
STOP CHANGING THE UX LAYOUT!!! I just got used to the new UX after a forced update a few month ago and now the crop button disappeared!
Is there any possible reason for this other than value extraction? 5 Templates, or pay more than 2x more than you are now.
For the LOVE OF GOD. STOP UPDATING THE FIGMA UI. I'm trying to finish my work, NOT waste time understanding what each update has done to my tools and HOW TO USE THEM FROM NOW ON. Jesus Christ. Stop forcing us to update to a shittier version each time. Can you just let us have what we already figured out? LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE.
I imagine this limitation exists to prevent infinitely nested instances, but there are definitely use cases for instances nested within itself. I run into this problem with my UI “section” component which is basically a container with a title and some content. I need to be able to replace the content with some other content that also contains sections (e.g. to build a nested UI tree).
I often work with Figma files that look great visually, but SEO performance sometimes drops after development. What best practices do you follow to ensure proper heading structure, clean HTML, fast load speed, and SEO-friendly layouts when converting Figma designs into live websites?I’ve been documenting my workflow for SEO-friendly development here:Rupak ChaulagainWould love to hear how others handle this during handoff and development.
I was pretty impressed with Figma Make. I used 2300 credits on a project.Today I booted it up (same project) and the quality completely dropped off. The work has been unusable.Even simple things like the AI saying they added an SVG to a background of a section. It doesn’t show up, asked it to add it, or change opacity, or change size, and it goes through reasoning, says it’s fixed, and it still doesn’t show up.Other things like using the wrong color palette, even after being told to refocus the design on the color palette. Most things are coming out as cookie-cutter template style generic designs now.Is today a bad day for the AI or some bug behind the scenes? Is it because of the credit limit? If it’s a credit limit situation, why can’t I just purchase more capacity? I shouldn’t have to wait a month to have consistent work produced by the tool.If I can’t purchase more capacity is there any other work around anyone has used?
The font size for Figma’s UI is way too small. I actually get mad every time I use Figma. I can’t believe there isn’t a way to adjust it in settings. There is no way the application complies with ADA requirements.
When a text element is set to Uppercase, it shouldn’t spellcheck improper casing. For example, below I’ve typed “THis”, which would be incorrect should it be standard case - however, when uppercase this is irrelevant and slightly distracting.
Is this a bug or is there a reason that the Affine Transformation values ( node.fills[0].imageTransform ) are sometimes slightly less than 1 or slightly more than 0 when they should be 1 or 0? Image Cropped Width-only (height should be 0 but is reporting 0.00049)[ [0.8247655630111694, 0, 0.0004940849030390382], [0, 1, 0],] Image Cropped Height-only (width should be 1 but width is reporting 0.999)[ [0.9990118145942688, 0, 0.0004940849030390382], [0, 0.8865153789520264, 0],]We’re normalizing these values against a threshold to sort these discrepancies out for now, but wondering if this has been brought up in the past and if there's a reason for it or not
