Figma thumbnail takes too long to update

Figma thumbnail takes too long to update.

I use the “Set as thumbnail” feature, which does not work very well. It often uses on old version of that frame. I have a component I use for all covers, and the thumbnail often end up being the original cover component. 

Hey everyone, thanks for bringing this up! I understand how frustrating this must be.

Could you let me know if this is happening in the desktop app, browser, or both? Also, have you tried clearing the cache to see if that helps?

If the issue persists, it would be really helpful if you could share a screen recording of what you're experiencing.

We use components for file thumbnails. After adding new text and details to the component instance, we wrap it in a Frame and click “Set as Thumbnail”. When the file thumbnail updated, it is often showing the default thumbnail component with placeholder data. Not what the instance with changed text.

This will make you life easier. I also use a cover instance from a shared library.,
Do your changes and run Thumbnail Refresher.

You might wait ~60s but it will refreshed. You can run the plugin even if you;re in another page where the cover is not present.
