Hi, I have a team in education plan. Now we’re all graduated but we need those design files. After the education plan expired, I want to upgrade my team to professional plan but Figma doesn’t allow it, we can only choose to upgrade to organization plan which is too expensive for us. And now we cannot access or download or move our file to a new professional team (I plan to buy one if Figma allows to move the old files into the new team). Is it true that we can only upgrade to the organization plan from education plan, or this is just a glitch? Please help me here T_T

You should be able to upgrade your EDU plan to Pro, but we’re not able to help with account management here on the forum.

Hey @Nab1, sorry for the trouble and confusion!
I can confirm that your team has already been verified as EDU, select your EDU team and upgrade it to Professional. From this page:
Select Upgrade to Professional. Then, you’ll see an option to select Yes for Is this an Education team? to the right.

I have completed all the steps to upgrade from an educational plan to a professional plan, everything went well, I received a confirmation that the operation was successful but my current “starred” plan never changes to “professional”. I checked if my tools have changed in my Figma projects, but nothing has changed!

Please note that upgrading your plan to professional won’t automatically change your existing files and drafts. Your old files and projects would have to be moved into your EDU team in order to see Professional tools.
Be sure to create any new drafts/files from within your upgraded EDU Team by ensuring your EDU team: Nab’s team is selected in your file browser under Recents.

As you suggested I created a new draft in Nab’s team and inserted frames, but I can’t find any difference in tools, please, see image.
Also, in the settings, in the Upgrade Figma plan option (View plans), my current plan still “starter” and still offers me to upgrade to the professional plan.

Prototyping is available on all plan types, so there wouldn’t be anything particularly new in the view here. It also looks like you haven’t created any flows or connected anything on your canvas yet, which would explain why you may not be seeing any advanced prototyping options.
