scaling buttons when increasing text size is inconsistent

I’m working on a phone dialpad for a mobile application where the buttons need to increase size as the text size increases. All the buttons start out the same size. I am finding that as text size increases, the buttons increase differently as the text size increases. Does anyone know how to keep the buttons equal in size as the text size increases?
