Padding going inside

Hi there :) Could someone help me figure out why the padding on the tabs in the events section gets padding added on the inside?

Will leave a link to the file below

Hey,

  1. Do not give open access publicly, give an option to duplicate to drafts or create isolated design file. Currently, I have full access to the file :D
  2. I don’t fully get the issue here. The padding is a space inside the container. Right where it is supposed to be added.

It sounds more like you would like to use a margin attribute. Unfortunately, Figma doesn’t support it. You can double contain an element, so the external container will be your bounding-box or play with padding+spacing on your outer/list container.

Can you describe or simply draw what would you like to achieve?

Hi!
Good shout, will keep that in mind!

I wanted to have some space left between the last object in a carousel and the edge of the screen (like in the photos below)

Realised that instead of double containing the element, I simply needed to put a frame on it that would create a look of a margin.

Ha! Now I get it.

You have 4 options (actually 3 as the most logical is bugged):

  1. Add a right padding to the “selected book section”, but...it’s bugged and on prototype working 1 per 10 times...
  2. Add an empty frame at the end of the list and call it filler, padding or something.

  3. Add a general padding on “content” frame and get rid of it from individual sections. It’s the best option but problematic in cases like “dividers” we would like to have on 100% width.

  4. In other sections like the bestsellers you can simply add left-right padding on the “bestsellers” frame and remove individual ones from the title and the list/carousel. Just make sure the list has “Clip content” deselected. In this solution you would have to have double frame even without any title to keep the mechanics work.

I hope it helps! Cheers 😉
