No fixed position option when using auto layout?

I have an auto layout frame where I’m trying to get the nav bar to fix position at the top of the frame. There is no option in prototyping like when fixing a nav bar in a normal frame. Is this not do-able or am I missing something? I’d also like to create a back to top button in a frame but that doesn’t seem to be possible either. Thanks!

Insert this frame one level higher.

Hmm. I had already used absolute positioning but I still don’t see that option. What am I missing?

Excellent! That worked, thank you. I had to move it and absolute position it a second time if anyone runs into the same issue.

That checkbox "Fix Position when scrolling "has been removed. To do the same thing, select your FAB button/icon , go got Prototype > Under scroll behaviour > set the position to Fixed.

Hello, I have build a mobile screen fully with auto-layout, with nav bar and bottom bar, and i can’t put nav bar and bottom bar in “Fixed” state on the prototype mode. Can you explain me why it’s not possible ?

It’s possible.

  • Canvas set to Autolayout
  • Fixed Object: should be child of canvas
  • Fixed Object: In Design Tab, under Frame, enable “Absolute Position” (crosshair icon)
  • Fixed Object: In Prototype Tab, choose “Fixed” or “Sticky”
  • Add top/bottom padding to your canvas to give enough space for e.g. Bottom Nav Bar

Bottom Nav Bar can be at the bottom of the canvas, the prototype view is smart enough to bring it into the viewport.

Hey! I came across the same issue and followed Timo5 advice but then my design stops being responsive. Is there a way to solve this? :)

I have same problem. It seems no way to use responsive design in auto layouts and fixed elements together. Elements in “fixed” section must ignore auto layout and can't be responsive. It’s haven't “fill” option in “width”, if “ignore auto layout” enabled.

After weeks/months of trials getting discouraged about this, today i finally managed to keep the design responsive while using ‘ignore autolayout’ function on a particular element (in order to preserve its ‘fixed position’ option): After choosing ‘ignore autolayout’ for that element, constraints window appear and from there its necessary to modify its constraints to ‘left and right’ (or ‘scale’) for the horizontal axis, and ‘Top’ for the vertical one...DON’T CHOOSE the ‘Center’ option (which i thought was ok before), but only the ones i stated above.
Then if necessary go back to prototype options and choose ‘fixed position’ in scroll behavior tab again.
