I found many topics related to my question, but without answers and closed due to inactivity, so my hopes are really low, but give it a shot anyway.

Whenever I create a Layout Grid (columns) it will be visible, and work fine toggling the visibility with L Shift + G. but for some reason, eventually the grids will just not show… the toggle is still happening (the eye icon beside the layout grid toggle open and closed) but the grid is not visible anymore, and the only way to make it work again is to delete the grid, and create the grid again… which is a bit annoying.

Has anyone encounter this similar problem and had a solution? is this a bug that is beign addressed?

I will appreciate any type of answer, considering that most of the similar topics where closed without a single response.

Thank you! 😅

Sounds like a bug to me…that I haven’t encountered yet. I noticed something in your post, though.

and the only way to make it work again is to delete the grid, and create the grid again

Do you use Grid Styles? At least that would be cutting the tedious part of creating the grid again, since you can just reapply the used Grid Style. They can be created and reapplied by clicking the 4 dots in the layout grid section:

Maybe that helps, cheers

Do you happen to notice any specific actions you take just prior to the layout grids not showing? If you open the file from another source such as the browser or desktop app while the issue occurs are you able to see the layout grids?

I would suggest reaching out to the support team directly via this form for help: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Try flipping your frame that you want to see the grid on. I’m on PC, on desktop client. I sometimes accidentally flip the frame (Shift + H) when I’m trying to toggle the grid (Shift + G). The Layout grid won’t show unless I toggle it back to its original position (which looks exactly the same, except now the grid shows up. Even when I delete and replace the grid it won’t work Until I flip the frame back to its original position. Hope this helps.

I'm also experiencing issues with the grid disappearing when using a horizontal tablet view. I have to create a new frame just to see the columns. Is there any way to keep the grid columns visible when designing a horizontal app?

“SHIFT H” fixed it for me. Must’ve accidentally pressed SHIFT H instead of SHIFT G without realizing.

Yeah, I am experiencing the same problem. Shift H did not fix it.

Hey All, thanks for following up on this issue!

If the suggestions above don’t help, this issue is primarily caused when a user accidentally selected aa frame's rotation and set it to a value that is not 0. Please check your file to ensure, if that’s the case for you, and if so, please try resetting your frame’s rotation to 0. If all is successful, your layout grid should appear again.

Please let me know how it goes.
