zu.nguyen

I set the constraint to left and right and move to new screen width (variable setup) the design is flipped. Here’s the video for this

Hi there,

Thanks for flagging. I couldn’t reproduce on my end but I’m checking with our internal team, so I will get back to you as soon as I have anything I can share with you.

Thanks for your patience.

Hi the flipped issue is fixed, but layout which applied constraints (center) to the frame doesn’t apply with new breakpoint, and it misaligns when changing breakpoint. Please check the video to see my point clearly. Thanks

Thanks for checking in again. I hope I can understand your point. Constraints tell Figma how layers should respond when you resize their frames.

  • Left maintains the layer’s position, relative to the left side of the frame.
  • Top maintains the layer’s position, relative to the top of the frame.

Based on the video you shared, Based on the video you shared, it looks correct to me because the frame is anchored to the left and top.

If you want to keep it centered, you can set the constraints to Center:

Please let me know if I’ve misunderstood anything!

Thanks,

Thank you for your response. In my use case, I move the screen into section with center constraint and that still doesn’t work.

Thanks for getting back to me so quick! Just to confirm, are the frame is position in aligned horizontally center?

  • Center maintains the layer’s position, relative to the horizontal/vertical center of the frame

You need to align the frames first to keep them centered.

If the issue persists, would you be able to share the file link with access to support-share@figma.com? It won’t affect your billing. I hope I can investigate it further.

Thanks,
Toku

Very sorry for the delayed response on our end!

I’ve checked with our internal team about this constraint issue with variables, and we need more investigation. Could you submit a bug report detailing the steps that led to this issue? You can do so by following the link: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041468234-Submit-a-bug-report

Thanks for your understanding.
