Question

Is there a Figma plugin available that can efficiently replace applied color styles with color variables either within a specific frame or throughout the entire file?

Hey, I’ve recently transitioned from using color styles to color variables in Figma. I’m searching for Figma plugins that can efficiently replace applied color styles with color variables throughout my file, eliminating the need for manual adjustments. Has anyone encountered a plugin that automates this process?

Thank you Zachshea, this is not something which I’m looking for. I’m looking for a plugin that can efficiently replace applied color styles with color variables throughout my file. For eg- I have been using color styles in my designs/screens and now I have to go to each design and then change those color styles to variables.

If your styles and variables are named the same you try this plugin → https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1369680060657648796/source-ds-utils

Run “Create Color Styles” command. This will either link variables with existing styles or create more styles if there is no match.

Anyway, once you bound variables you can safely delete all your colour styles. The link to variables will remain.

Still nothing here? I would love the same!

Example: I am using #6698FF in some designs. Now I have a local color variable using the same Hex Code. I would love to convert that to use the local variable now.

Moreover: How can automation help detect the the exact hex codes and make suggestions?
