Hi, i’m having problems to create a right sidebar such as a left sidebar, somebody already made one of those?

I’ll start from the beginning, I had a regular account and I worked in it quietly, later when I transferred the order to the developer I created a team and transferred the project to it and paid the subscription so that the developer could use the full functionality of Figma, after 3 months the project was finished and I stopped the subscription. And then I needed one of my big educational projects (I worked on it for more than half a year) and what was my surprise when I couldn’t find it. Another person had access to this project and I asked him “Could you have accidentally deleted it?”. Look in the recycle bin, etc., to which I received an unequivocal answer that nothing like that had happened. My CV was also in Figma today I needed to change it a bit but I couldn’t find it either! 😦 Please help me to get back at least my main project, I gave all the necessary information in the request [#1059529]. Hi there! I’ve seen a few old posts about this request, but wanted to revive the topic in a brand new post. In my company, we make a lot of images composed of UI interfaces with text (an admin for instance), that we need to localize in many locales. We used plugins in the past, but it’s very manual: we need to put every key in a spreadsheet, send it to a localization service, get the spreadsheet back, generate images, export… We are looking for a dynamic service hat could be called via an API: being able to programmatically export a dynamic asset, with provided strings. The layout of the asset would also be dynamic by nature (E.g. if a text is in a button, the dynamic text would resize the button as well, depending on the length of the string). We would take care of caching the image in our own CDN, so we don’t hit the Figma API on every request. That feature would drastically improve our workflow, and save us bunch of time. Let me know! Hi, So I’m helping my brother build a website for his custom kitchen/office design and install company. I used relume to make the wireframe and sitemap. So far so good. I’m trying to include a feature that isn’t so simple but I think will help him stand out from competition. Basically, I want to create an interactive room builder where potential customers can pretty much draw out their room and leave notes in places for requests or to give the designers a heads up, and potentially even submit their own design and ask for a quote. But generally they’ll give they layout of their room, hit submit, my brother will get the layout and will be able to import it into the design app (2020) then send it back with his ideas. How hard would it be to make this (no coding experience) and how would you recommend i go about doing it? I’m deadset on learning how to do this just need a steer in the right direction.

Every time I create a text and use stroke also, upon exporting it and checking out my newly exported text, the top of the stoke has been cut off. Any ideas what’s going on here, or what I’m not doing right? Thanks for your help!

When using assets from a Figma File Library there doesn’t seem to be any way to update the Linked Library assets if they have already been added to a slide. So if I then need to update a component in the library and publish the library, the components do not update in the slides. It is a little frustrating to have to then reimport all the components again. And defeats the purpose of the library.

We have components we have created for a container size of 1440 using padding of 48px left and right in that grid used in ecommerce. However our marketing team needs a smaller container size 1280, where they need a padding left and right of 208 How could we use the same component and place it on 2 different frame container sizes and keep the 2 paddings for both ecommerce and Marketing usage? Can this be accomplished with variables theming. Keep in mind we do have already a token used for the padding for ecommerce to be 48px we do not want to add another token for marketing as this will blow up our already very large token set we have created using the design token plugin

Does anyone else notice that lately, blurs in Figma have been looking wierd and almost fragmenting? Look at the screenshot I posted.

Hi all, I’m trying to create a long-ish continuous mobile web page with interactions happening on several sections of the page. I’ve figured out how to make the interactions work individually and when put it all together, I used mouse-enter. For some reason, some interactions work and some don’t. Also, the transitions between different sections seem laggy. Here’s the file. I’m not even sure if I’m going about it in the most optimal way, so please advise on how to approach the concept of several interactions on a single page. I appreciate your help!

In the last few days when using Figma, the browser frequently crashes, prompting out of memory, which was rarely encountered before last week, and the Figma file itself has not undergone any major changes, so I don’t know what’s the reason. Computer memory: 16g

The projects I am the owner of are all deleted and disappear, no one in the project can see them. The error is as follows “If you expected to see a file here you may not have permission to access it. Please ask the owner to update the file permissions and try again”. helpp meeeeeeee

It would be extremely useful to have raw SVG paths exposed for the PATH object type. Not the path outlines, just the d attribute of the path. Not having this has make the api essentially unworkable for certain things, like when the absolute smallest SVG possible is required. The only way to programmatically get the real path commands for a PATH type object is to go through the image rest api, retrieve the svg and parse it to get the d attribute.

I liked the way Design Files were displayed in the community before, when you could immediately scan the insides of the files from the main thumbnail picture. Now you need to scroll down to a similar view to scan the insides. Why would Figma do this? Feels like the main thumbnail has no purpose now.

i dont know, when I open Figma as editor, and edit components. component variants cannot be edited at all. but, when I restart the computer, everything runs normally. but not long after, the error occurred again. does anyone have a solution to this problem?

My company is looking to replace all out Miro licenses with FigJam but we won’t do that until FigJam has support for JIRA Server. We have our own JIRA instance installed on our network (We can’t use JIRA Cloud due to regluations) and would like to move over to FigJam. Is there any update on creating support for JIRA Server to the same extent as Miro?

Figma must alert the organization administrator when there is a change of editors, because as they do today, the account arrives as a surprise. Just today Figma charged me an invoice containing 2 Figma Jam, and 2 Figma editors. I don’t remember authorizing such actions, I signed Figma just for myself as an editor, out of nowhere comes an invoice 4x higher than expected. It gave the impression that Figma was stealing from me. They urgently need to improve transparency!

I have a component setup that looks like this. (Example attached below) The placeholder image is set to ‘fill’ width / ‘640’ fixed height. I’m using this component in many places in my design file. Not all images I add to the placeholder fill the height in the design file. (Example attached below) Can the height of this placeholder be adjusted depending on the size of the image placed? Otherwise, I’ll have unnecessary white space at the top and bottom of the image if it doesn’t fill the full placeholder space.

I have noticed recently that if I want to drop a frame into another frame Figma will prevent me from doing so if the frame I am trying to drop exceeds the width or height of the target frame. I am guessing this is to prevent a target frame from getting all wacky. I would much rather have the target frame get into temporary disarray until I adjust the dropped frame, or have the dropped frame gain absolute position. Either way… I would rather adjust the dropped frame within the target frame rather than have to adjust it beforehand and outside of it. I don’t remember ever having this issue… just the past month or so. Is this a new thing?

I’ve recently had problems with a Figma file in which i’m storing a lot of images. One of the pages, is now only loading low resolution versions of the original images - They are embedded at their correct pixel dimensions, but only loading a very blurry pixelated version of the original high res images. I kept getting the the "File has unsaved changes " warning on the file, i could not close it for over a day without it Figma me I would lose my changes, I dont understand, Figma should not work like this. My file is now broken and I have none of new ui features or any of the other updates, what am i paying for?

Building a quick prototype of a fairly typical app that has a 2-level nav - global nav across the top and each section has it’s own set of tabs. Is it possible to set an on-click target for the tabs that references the current state/location within the app? In other words, if you’re on “Section 1” the tabs would connect to 1a, 1b, 1c, etc. If you’re on “Section 2”, the tabs would connect to 2a, 2b, 2c, etc. I’d like to avoid having multiple sub nav objects if possible. We don’t know how else to contact the Figma support team besides starting a discussion and asking them what’s going on. We wanted to contact Figma in an interactive way rather than through one-way email communication, which is why we are posting this on the community forum. We are slowly losing our excitement for the new update as things have been moved, and we need to practice ASAP before new projects come our way. Please help. Thanks 🙏

Hi! I’ve created a conditional variable that pauses a certain audio component when clicking. And i want it to open a new video. the video i want to activate works perfectly fine, but for some reason it doesn’t seem to work as a reation to the click interaction.
