Hi, I had a course about Figma and our mentor told I can just copy PNG from my Photoshop file and paste in Figma on my Mac (cmnd C/ cmnd V)but it is not working on my iMac and my MacBook ( Is there any tricks? Pls help me, I just studying Figma

Newbie, only a week in. Be gentle. Nomenclature may be off. Trying to create 1/3-2/3 column layout. Can not figure out how to both make text responsive properly constrained within the grid, and keep sections from bleeding into the following section. The first seems to require constraints (available with frames, but not with autolayout). Second seems to require the “hug” feature (available with autolayout, but not frames). I’ve spent hours nesting every combo I can think of, to no avail. Am I missing something? Am I expecting too much? See attached screenshot for illustration. The 3rd option is certainly ‘close enough’, but for learning purposes, I’d like to understand how to do this.

In the video linked here, I demonstrate an issue with a component instance containing multiple nested child components. When swapping out these nested components for new ones, I’ve noticed that some properties from the previous components, such as fill and padding, are being preserved. This behavior appears inconsistent, as it only affects certain instances. One point not covered in the video is that all of my instances use auto-layout, yet they still retain properties from the previous components after the swap. A similar issue is seen in this thread. Is there something I could be doing wrong or is this just a really bad bug?

TLDR: When I swap my slot component with a button, the text layer color inside my slot is applied as a preserved override as a fill to my button label container, which is using a typography component. My team created a stack component to mirror MUI layout properties for custom content projection. The stack is essential a group of slots, which are placeholder components, so we can instance swap one to many slots in a stack without detaching component instances, like the content inside a card or dialog (could be buttons, text, or form controls). E.g. here’s a stack with two slots inside. Each slot contains a text layer, which isn’t meant to do anything other than signify this is a placeholder component meant to be instance swapped. But when I instance swap a slot with a button, I end up with this. The purple text from the slot is being preserved as a fill on the frame for our typography component, which is not what we want. Hello everyone, I have been using the website version of Figma for a while, and there was an issue with the fonts. The same fonts that were working a few days ago are not working now. But the main thing is that the same font is working with the Desktop app. When I log in from both the Website and Desktop app, downloaded fonts work properly in the Desktop App version whereas it doesn’t work on the Website once.

I want to join education plan with personal work email(Gmail) because I can’t login to university account. Can I do that?

Figma breaks the font width. Why does it happen? When you click on the font itself, it becomes wider. The file was created a day ago, new fonts were not installed or downloaded.

I have been student in University of Immaculate Conception which is this is my email [redacted]. Now since I became a part timer teacher in my university the IT administrator have updated my account into [redacted]. I am now try to accessing my Figma account but it seems it reset my account. How can I recover all my files that is associated with my old email account to my new account.

hey guys, can somebody please help me! i ran into some issues with my color styles - see the attached image. i have different color styles, one of them is white 100%. but everytime i select it it shows some light orange color, even though the circle indicates it is white. but if i check for the details its still that light orange. i just dont get what is going in my figma file. can anyone help me please? cheers eric

I’m trying to export a document I created in Figma with 12 different frames but every single time I try to export all the frames together into a single PDF file the first page shows just big blank empty space. I’ve tried everything that comes to my mind. Creating a new frame and moving the content. Making the frame a section, recreating every text, images and shapes of the frame from zero and more but nothing. If I export the frame singularly it works. If I export all the frames into multiple files it works. Just when I try to do everything together. I’ve searched on the community but can’t find a solution that works for me. Please help!

My prototype looks well in web view. However, when I shared the prototype using the URL link and view on my mobile, the design doesn’t fit within the screen. How can I solve this issue on mobile view?

Hello, Do you think it is possible for multiple people to share an account with only one email? Would it work if they used it simultaneously? I am in a small agency where we already pay for 5 full seats. Designers have their licenses, but we would like to try Slide Deck for occasionally presentations. We can’t afford to pay a license for all the project management team who could be involved in the Slide Deck work. As the future prices of Slide Deck is not yet knowable, I’m planing for now to create a common email, with full seat, they will be able to share. What do you think ?

Hi, I’m having an issue with the variant menu. When I try to change the variant, it’s unclickable. Additionally, a second unclickable menu appears at the top of the page, near the home button. I can insert a new variant name, but I can’t select an existing variant. It seems to be a bug within the variant menu. Someone is having this same issue or know how to solve it?

Hi, I am using components for the first time with properties. I have a card with text and an icon. The icons have been configured as Instance properties, but the icons I have all have differing sizes. Is it possible for the icon to maintain its aspect ratio, as presently it does not and loos stretched. I tried to place the icon in a frame but that didn’t appear to help. Thanks in advance.

I have a white label design system with a mode for each brand. Whenever I add a new variable, it adds a variable for each mode. Is it possible to bulk edit the newly added variable across all modes?

I have a frame that has some elements which have dropshadows applied (note the dropshadows extend beyond the frame boundaries). If I export this frame as an image it will extend the size of the frame to include the dropshadows - which gives me a larger image. The problem is I want to control exactly the exported size of the image so I want my frame to include the shadows so I can scale it to the correct size. Is there a way to do this? Note I have tried clicking “Resize to fit” - it still excludes the shadows from the frame.

Can someone please help me with this situation? (cfr. screenshot). How can I make the scrolling part be in front of the fixed part ?

Using variants for the foundations (for desktop/mobile) or creating 2 separate libraries? Hey I’m creating a design system for a Saas that has a desktop design and a app(mobile) design. I’m creating 2 component libraries, one for desktop and one for mobile. I plan to use both libraries in the one document, because I will be creating the desktop and mobile designs in one document. I need advice on how to structure the styles/foundations (text styles, padding, margin, border radius, grid, icons, colors, etc) for these components. How would you advice to structure and create this?

Good afternoon. Why don’t new users have the option to switch to the old design, even though you claim that any user can switch to the old design? You just force them to work in a new interface that is completely not convenient
