I’m creating some icons with a base resolution of 1024 x 1024. Each icon design variation is created as its own component at 1024px. Then, I have some components which contain those icons where those icons are scaled to different sizes depending on the treatment. (60px, 72px, etc.) In order to maintain the icon design at various scales, I use the scaling tool accessed via the ‘k’ key. From within the main component (non instances) I can then swap the scaled icon for any other icon component and the scaling applied by the ‘k’ tool is maintained. However, when creating instances of the component, and then attempting to swap the inner icon instance in exactly the same way as I do within the parent instance, scaling is NOT maintained. I’ve attached a video which demonstrates the issue: https://imgur.com/F2wLXJd In the video, I’ve created two example icons. The first icon contains a series of grey capsules which should be scaled. The second icon is exactly the same but with yellow capsules.

When I preview my animations, other elements (such as text) move around slightly during the animation which is very distracting and looks unprofessional. All of my frames are copy-paste, so there isn’t any spacing differences between animation frames with elements that are not animated. Any idea on how to fix this? How to make font size responsive?

Maybe i’m missing something but I can’t find a way for our developers to select all instances or variants of a component when in dev mode. The method as an editor isn’t available, any ideas on a work around? Thanks!

I’m having trouble logging in, so I’m sending an email requesting support. I waited the verification email for new account, but don’t receive it. I know this question has been answered by the community before, but I didn’t quite understand the solutions, which were very brief. I’m very new to Figma, but pretty good at Photoshop so I am really digging the animations. I am trying to create the circle text animation as seen on https://andtea.com/ . I watched a YouTube video and was able to create the circle text with no issue. I was able to test it in preview mode before I made a component. Once once I made it a component I was able to test it in play mode, with no issue. The issue came when I tried to take that same component instance and move it into a frame. Can someone please explain to me what am I not doing? Thank you in advance

Hi everyone, My problem is a bit hard to explain in words, so I’ll just show you a quick screen recording to make you understand: drive.google.com As you can see when I change one dropdown menu all the other dropdown menus change their values as well. I understand why it does this, but is there a way to make each dropdown menu have their own individual settings. Or would you really have to create a different component for each dropdown menu? I want to scale this frame with all layers proportionally without autolayout etc. I have tried the scale tool (K), but the layers seem to scale weirdly. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

I ploughed through existing posts but I’m still confused about this: I have a layout grid on a frame. When I draw a new rectangle it snaps perfectly to the grid. After drawing the rect when I move the sides they still snap. But when I turn the rect into a closed vectorline through a double click, the corner vertices refuse to snap to the grid. Is that normal behaviour?

Still not able to use the updated Figma UI3 version

Hi all, I’m a complete newbie in Figma. I have to put some text on spiral path. I can do this: the spiral, I draw with Shaper plugin and then I use To Path plugin to set the text on the spiral. All is well, except after I can’t adjust neither my spiral parameters, nor the space between letters which become independent objects. It’s boring as I can’t foresee how it would look like before! Can anybody help me, please? For example, I change font-size from 36px to 20px, it’s ok, but I’d like to make the spiral curls narrower that it would look good. And here I fail ((

Hello everybody! Is there a way I can change the link in one place and automatically to change anywhere that link is displayed across the Figma Map? For example if I have on a map a link with the naming convention “Document 203482” and I upload that with another link, can it be automatically updated everywhere on the map where I have that link? I tried the Link Manager, but it seems like I can only edit them one by one and not automatically change them everywhere.

I can click through elements on the buttons underneath. I tried setting “on click” to “none” on the elements that I would click through but that did not do anything. How can I disable it? Thank you!

Hi there, I’ve created various variables in different collections. When I want to apply a number variable to a text so that the text takes the value of the variable, I can’t find all my variables in the menu. I can see “all libraries” but only one variable appears out of the dozens I’ve created. I don’t understand why. Any ideas ?

I am trying to log in via my laptop but Figma Is returning the message “Click on the link we sent to xxxxx@xxxxx.com within the next 5 minutes to log in.” The problem is, the email is on my phone and doesn’t help me trying to log in via my laptop and not my phone. Anyone else had this problem, or know how to solve?

Hi team. Previously I could embed a prototype flow in a page and include a version-id parameter to use an older saved version. Embeds with version-id stopped working some time yesterday, returning an error. The request is accepted if the parameter is changed to version but only the current version of the prototype flow is returned. How should I embed non-current prototype flows in web pages?

I’m a teacher trying to use FigJam as a replacement for Google Jamboard. The app is much smoother so I’d like to use it, but when I share with my students I see their cursors buzzing around the board. I can’t find the “hide multiplayer cursors” option that the browser offers on the FigJam for iPad app. Am I missing something or does it lack that functionality.

Hi! I’m experiencing some issues related to Auto Layout, the main one and most important, is what I describe in the title (Children of an Auto Layout not responding to the auto vertical gap). I already looked around community, Figma’s site and the web in general, tried different settings, but still can’t solve the situation. The thing is: I have 2 text containers within an Auto Layout. The container in the top has a horizontal and vertical resizing set on Fill, and a max width. The one on the top, has only the horizontal resizing set on Fill, and the vertical resizing is set on Hug, but the reason I leave It like that is because otherwise, the text container resizes weirdly and both containers end up overlapping. Bottom container in auto layout set Fill / Fill Bottom container in auto layout set Fill / Hug Constraints in the Auto Layout were set to Left and right / Center, and the auto layout vertical gap between items was set first to 3 and then to Auto.
