Inability to copy comments with a duplicated file

I saw this topic raised in the past. Wanted to surface it again because this continues to be an issue for me now and has been throughout the years I’ve been using Figma. Comments do not get copied over when duplicating a file or when exporting a .fig file.

Has anyone found a workaround for this?

@Figma_Support Is an update for this issue coming our way in the future?

    Thank you for your feedback! It is intended, when duplicating a file, the duplicate will not contain comments and version history. https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038511533-Duplicate-or-copy-files

      When consolidating Figma and FigJam files, it is quite a pain for us to not have the comments carried with the objects being copied. I’m sure others feel the same way. I would love to see this on the roadmap as an option (e.g. after pasting, it asks if comments should be included or not).

        We’re having issues with this as well. Our team needs comments carried over in duplicate files.

        +1 - this is massively missing. Whether intended or not. Can you please adise how to copy the comments over at least? This doesn’t work either...
