Figma app lag issues

Show first post

Joram_Salisbury

This is now affecting me terribly, and I’ve never had issues before the past week or so.
Even navigating the dashboard it’s slow.
Drawing a rectangle in a fresh doc with nothing else open lags.

I’ve cleared cache.
I’ve uninstalled and re-installed the app.
I’ve forced GPU acceleration.
I have 64gb ram.
Windows 11 - 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700H   2.90 GHz

The browser version doesn’t seem to have the issue.

I’m paying for 5 seats. Seriously, I’ve wasted hours trying to fix, and I can’t work efficiently right now and it’s affecting my business.

Has anyone solved this?

I submitted a report as requested. After sharing the design to the figma support team, it appears resolved. Let’s see how it goes.

It seemed okay for a day or two. Now back to lag on the desktop app. I feel like there may be a conflict with some sort of other program or something. Do I need to create a new support ticket @Celine_D ?

To those having issues - try clearing your browser’s cache (it’s annoying to log back into stuff again, but I cleared it from ‘All time’). It appears to have made difference - yes, on the desktop app.

Let me know if it helps.

Yesterday it was working okay, now back to terrible lag. What’s the go?
I have two docs open on the desktop app. Is there a process for each page? Is 13 processes normal?
I’ve lodged several reports. Fix this.

Also having lag issues in figma.

Resizing objects, moving cursor feels sluggish. It makes work very frustrating.

Right now it seems to be only in the native app (MacOS). Opening Figma in a web browser seems to work fine right now. I don’t work with the web app so don’t know if this will work long term.

I have tried restarting Figma as well as closing files i don’t work in right now. But still the same issue.

Using an M1 pro with 32gb ram.

I can’t seem to edit my previous post.

I continued researching the issue and for me it seems not to be a Figma issue. It was fixed when I didn’t connect my screen through a usb-c hub for the screens (A HP hub). When I connect the screen via HDMI cable directly to my Macbook everything is smooth again. 👍

I started wondering if the issue is with the cache for undo (ctrl+z / cmd+z). I literally closed figma and reopened and was relatively quick.

This could explain why when I try on the browser or another machine which I rarely use, figma is  relatively quick.
