Can a plugin / widget initially posted as free be converted to paid in later updates?

Hi all, I want to publish a plugin and I’m considering not charging users in the first few months while I gauge interest for it. Do I have the option to later convert it to paid plugin?

No, you cannot convert a free plugin or widget into a fully paid resource. But you can move some functionality behind a paywall.
