Just recently I noticed that text in the variables window is blurry. If I move the window around, sometimes it glitches itself back to clear text. But most of the time I can’t get it to fix itself. I’ve tried logging out and back in, and even restarting my computer. This problem is persistent.

In the first screenshot you can see the blurry variables window adjacent to other UI text, which is crystal clear. In the second one, you can see where I moved it a little and it partially repaired itself.

I’ve searched but can’t find a solution for this.

My setup:

  • Desktop Figma app 124.6.5

  • 2024 MacBook with Sequoia 15.2

  • External Dell U2715H display

On my MacBook’s built-in display, it’s fine. The blurriness only happens when using the external display. And for reference, no other UI text in any other app on my system has this issue.

I’d love help if anyone knows what might be causing it.

Thanks in advance.

Hey @Mark_Wyner, thanks for flagging this!

This seems related to a bug that our team is already investigating. I’ll pass this onto the team and provide an update as soon as I hear back.

@dvaliao @Mark_Wyner

I think this resolves it. It’s a setting. Go to View / Interface Scale / Reset to Default. Mine was set to 90%. At 100% its crisp and clear.

If a user prefers the scale less than 100% (Myself being one of them), then that is an issue for the Figma team to resolve.

Thanks, @ScottDaniels. My UI scale was set to 110%. Dialing it back to 100% does resolve the blur in an idle state. Which is what’s most important.

For the Figma folks, this definitely needs to be fixed. Is that the issue they’re working on, @dvaliao?

As an aside, there’s still a blur issue when in motion. The text blurs while dragging the component window around.

This isn’t a huge issue, but it’s an indication of this being a bug.

Hey @Mark_Wyner, yes - that is the issue being worked on!
