Hello, the “apply blend mode” button doesn’t work for me – nothing happens when I press it. But I can change the blend mode in files where the blend mode is already applied. I tried different files, rebooted my laptop, but this has been going on for four days already. How can I fix this?

Hi @Maria_Ryabtseva, I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having with the “apply blend mode” button. Happy to help out!

Can you let me know a bit more about the issue?

  • Does this happen in both the Figma Desktop App and the browser?
  • Have you tried clearing your cache?
Follow these steps for clearing the browser cache:
    -Google Chrome
    -Safari
    -Firefox
    -Microsoft Edge

If you’re using the desktop app, here’s a guide for clearing its cache: Clear Cache in Figma Desktop App.

  • Are you seeing any error messages, or does the button simply not respond?

If possible, could you share a quick screen recording of the issue? This will help me better understand what’s happening and offer the right solution.

Thank you,
Gayani

This problem persists only in the Google Chrome browser (I just checked the work in other browsers and everything works correctly there). I updated the cache of Figma and the browser, but it still did not help… I recorded a video but I can’t post it. In fact, when interacting with the button, nothing happens, as if this button was inactive.

Okay, I realized that the buttons that are closer to the right side of the screen also don’t work for me, and when I minimized the browser a little (so that it wasn’t the entire width of the screen), these buttons started working for me. I took a screenshot to show how it looks. I don’t know whose side this bug is on - Figma or the browser (but I have the latest version of the Google Chrome browser)

Thank you for sharing the details! It sounds like a tricky issue to deal with. I’m glad you found a workaround by resizing the browser window, and it’s helpful to know this works fine in other browsers. Since you’re already using the latest version of Chrome, this might indeed be a browser-related bug.
